The End Of The World As We Know It Bowie
OK I REALLY need to make a steel run......only playing with this 3/8 5160 right now and I need to restock on the thin 1/4in stuff
I had the itch to grind and came up with this simple Bowie design but at 3/8in thick it can hardly be just a belt knife. It must be for some far off horrible situation life Alien invasions, Zombie attack, or plane crashes in the Alaskan wild with no hope of rescue. OK silliness aside, it actually worked out well as a tough belt knife. I flat ground the blade to a nice thin cutting edge and drilled the tang out so while it does have heft, it wont drag you down. I used flared stainless tubes and CIP Tero Tuff for scales. I love the Tero Tuff as the finished texture is similar to heavily sandblasted canvas micarta. Grippy but not hard on your hands. I ground a very low angle unsharpened clip mostly for look as it just makes it a Bowie. Overall it is 11 1/4in with a 6 1/2in blade.
