Terminator Salvation! Identify these Knives (and other kit)

Well I haven't seen the movie nor do i know if I will but one of the pictures from the film in the paper got me intrigued as they seem to have them wearing some good kit.

There's two knives one on Christian Bales arm, the other on the other guys boot. At first the sheath looked like Benchmade to me but I didn't recognize the handle on the Bale one. The other one I actually don't have a clue.

As for the other stuff, well I'm seeing Crye BDU's, what looks like a Tactical Tailor X harness and Double Mag pouches on Bale and a TT Dump Demo or Saw pouch on the other guy. Also some nice Surefires on both the rifles.

What do you guys think? Oh and has anyone seen the film?
 
Christian Bale's knife is a Benchmade HK Snody something-or-other. The other looks like a Ka-Bar USMC type.
 
Judging by how the sheath on that fellas leg is riveted , I would have to say it might be a MK3 trench knife.

and a classic ol' Kabar. It's not riveted to his leg--he has a strap through the belt loop and one over the body of the sheath.
 
Not riveted to his leg, The sheath is riveted together as in riveted construction. Without seeing the bottom of the sheath it would be hard to determine if a MK3 or a KaBar, so I will say KaBar also.

I'm a doofus, after looking at my Camillus Mk3 sheath, that knife in the pic is a KaBar. The top of the sheath is wrong for a MK3, I was looking at handle only.

Curious how thought-out the arm-placement was...Is he left-handed and wanted it that way? Did a weapons guy actually say 'That's your off-hand back-up', or did they just slap it on there for kicks?
 
Perhaps, the blade is deployable while still retaining control of his primary weapon.

Anybody want to guess what the report of that SBR FAL the guy with the KaBar is sporting is like!!

Oakley Assault boots that are molested with those zippers IMHO. The Crye Precision uniform is pretty nice...damn expensive too.

well two things.

number one is resting it on your foot any better? Doing so might quite literally be shooting yourself in the foot.

number two is that its probably airsoft lol. with the reliance on cg I wouldnt be that suprised.

i would have thought that would be the least effective way to fend of a terminator...
unless it was a sepukku thingy.
so what exactly were the knives for in the movie anyway?
 
The only knife scene i recall is a female pilot of the resistance cut herself loose from her eject shoot.
John Conner explains over radio how to dismantel terminators with a knife to the back of the skull but someone ends up doing it with a bar of metal.
