There are a lot of various bolster shapes and styles available. Is there a name for the line that is on some bolsters? It's usually parallel to the scale/bolster meetup, and is on some older Rogers, and the Railsplitter from S&M /Queen. Thanks, Joe

If the line is thin, or there are more than one, it's usually called a threaded bolster. If it's wide its called grooved or "rattail". There are differences of opinion, but these seem to be the most often used references. Case just came out with some bolsters that are kind of in-between. Hmmm:confused:

Also refered to as a fluted bolster. Case just came out with a line of pearl handled knives that feature them. S&M's last English Jack file and wire too.
