I've just got to post here about this terrific conversion for the ubiquitous Maglite Mini-Mag AA flashlights. For around $25.00 (US), you get a replacement (drop-in) LED cicuit and a reflector that takes the place of the standard bulb/reflector in the Mini-Mag. What you get is brilliant superwhite light that has at least as much "throw" as the original bulb, but many times brighter, with much improved battery life and a super rugged LED that never burns out like a bulb. Unlike the traditional bulb that starts out at it's brightest and gradually dims over time. this LED circuit is regulated- providing the same output for most of the battery life, then switching to a dim mode when the batteries get too low to maintain this output. I have been using this light at work for at least a couple of weeks, and I'm still on the same set of batteries, and still getting the same brilliant white white as when the batteries were new. The beam color is almost exactly the same as my Surefire L4. Believe me, this light blows a standard Mini-Mag away! You ask: "Why spend $25.00 on a light that costs $8.00?". I've heard this a few times. I ask "Why not?" This makes a good light out of what would normally be a mediocre light, at best. You could by three regular Mini-Mags and still not have anything approaching a Mini-Mag with this drop-in upgrade. The fact that Mini-Mags are so affordable is a plus with me, so if/when the light housing gets too scratched or damaged, I can by another one for cheap, and drop this baby right in. If you carry the Mini-Mag around like a lot of people do, you will love this upgrade! I am impressed every time I turn mine on. If you want any more info, check out www.terralux.biz
