Not sure if I should be letting Chuck Burrows announce this or not, but I read on the Knife Network forum that Gib Guignard has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and is in the hospital. I really like Gib and am not taking this news too well.

and I am sorry for your pain. I sent smoke for Gib and all those around him.

Best Regards,

Howdy All -
Keith no problem - I just plain forgot to post here - as you can figure I'm a bit more than upset.

Gib and I have worked so close together he's become family and this just bites so......

I talked with Gib yesterday afternoon and his spirits are good considering the situation - he's weak and tired (especially with the hospital food :barf: ) but his will is strong - he should be going home as soon as things get set up for him - I'll try and keep folks notified of things until Gib can get back on a computer......

Thanks to everbody for youre concern and prayers/good thoughts......

Sorry to hear about your friend, said a little prayer for him before I posted this.Hope it helps.God hears all prayers.

This is sad, indeed. I've known Gib for years too, and it *really* hurts to comprehend what's happening.

Prayers ongoing...

Very sad news.My best wishes and hopes that things go as well as they can.

I'm sorry to hear about this sad situation. My prayers are with him and his family.

Keith, this was upsetting to me as well. I stopped by Gibs place in Quartzite about 6 weeks ago. We had a very nice chat and I got to see many knives and hawks in various stages. He is a fellow Arizonan and his knives have been on my must have list for a long while. Hope he heels well and continues to "keep on truckin".

That is a shame. He is a very talented individual. I tuned in to the threads as some of his bowies were crafted. Just those few pics turned me into a fan and put his work on my "buy" list for the future. Please do encourage the family to check into hospice services. A good hospice will help Gib and his family with the emotional (lots of support) and financial (cover cost for pain medication, etc.) impact.

Terminal doesn't mean he is dead. Some terminal patients can live for a long time before the Cancer does its deed. Prayers sent for him, his family and his friends.

Sometimes the person diagnosed with terminal cancer beats the disease. Hopefully that will be the case here.

Absolutely! About 18 years ago, my old agency partner was given 5 years to live (at best) by his doctors. He's alive, well, passes each annual cancer check with flying colors, and can still walk 4 miles more than I can!

I have a friend who has cancer and was given six months to live, that was fifty one months ago. He's still going strong and looks good. As someone said, terminal doesn't mean you dead, you just keep fighting.
