Odd - I thought the 'Tirpitz' model has a blade forged from reclaimed armor belt salvaged from the Tirpitz. Specifically, wasn't it equipped with a multilayered forged Damascus steel of that vintage? That would seem a far cry from the 154CM. Seriously, how could it be a 'Tirpitz' model if it has a modern steel? What relates it to the Tirpitz? On the other hand, I understand the offering of a 'Gentleman's Folder' in 154CM from the Damascus variant of 2008. Like my Titan Worker, however, it doesn't even have a thumb nick to aid in presenting the blade! Nice knife, the 154CM bladed 'Gentleman's Folder' - I have fondled one on several trips to my local 'enabler'. I have about become accustomed to the dedicated two hand opening of the Titan Worker.

Edited to add:
I just found both the Tirpitz Damascus (110190DAM & $859 MSRP) and the Tirpitz Folding Knife (110191 & $400 MSRP) in what was identified as 154CPM - both on evilbay. Now, I know many of my Benchmades use 154CM - and I have a few upgraded CPM154 bladed Buck knives. It is not the same metal. Last year, I heard about problems with the CPM company - and Buck dropped their CPM154 production , as well as it's choice as a steel in their cust 110's. 154CM is still available - witness Benchmade - and it isn't as fine grained as CPM154. So... which steel does the Tirpitz Folding Knife use? I am not a player in any case - an Al-handled knife with a linerlock doesn't interest me!
