Here's some work I was privileged to be able to shoot for the Snake Man. ;) This knife is perfectly beautiful and I've loved having it around. Enjoy! Oh and don't forget to click on the images to enlarge.

Maker: Terry L. Vandeventer, ABS MS
Website: http://www.vandeventerknives.com/

Blade Length: 9.5"
Overall Length: 15”
1084 & 15n20 feather-pattern damascus
Damascus frame handle & fittings
Silicon bronze liners, spacer, and pins
Wooly Mammoth ivory scales

Fantastic images and knife. I love the bronze liners and that is my all time favorite color/pattern of ivory.

Very nice.

Wow, I don't even know what to say. Simply incredible work on the knife, beautiful materials and your photography makes it shine. Especially love the detail shots.

Terry this one is my new favorite Bowie anywhere. Amazing everything with it especially the blade, guard, liners, frame Damascus, ivory and blade. Yes I said blade twice.

Caleb,

That's a great photo.

Terry did a super job on this knife.

The owner is a friend of mine, I'm sure that he will be pleased with both.

That's one fine knife, great ivory, great Damascus...stunning photography too!

My goodness...

That ivory really draws me, and that last picture with all the detailed work on the handle.

Well I guess I'll step into Caleb's post and take my bow. Ha ha. This knife was really fun. One of those rare cases where everything went together without a hitch. From sketch to stone, it never fought me. Caleb did an excellent job and was very professional. It is on its way to the new owner as I type.

Cheers,

hyper impressive!

Terry,

I too love the handle shape. It's not every day you see a frame handle with such dynamics.

Awesome knife. Awesome pic as well.

Have to give credit. The client wanted a knife based on a Jerry Fisk southwestern bowie design. He's had several makers build knives for his collection that reflected this style, but included their own artistic elements. He gave me a basic drawing and I ran with that.

Every single thing about this piece is just stellar Terry, and of course you did a fine job of displaying it in all of it's glory Caleb!I would say we may have a top 5 contender here for this year's bowie competition!!

The damascus on the fittings and blade are incredible but it's the handle contouring that sells it for me. I love the subtle rise in the palm section before it drops down again.
Really thought out. I'm sure she's a beauty in the hand.

Really digging your photography too Caleb, another great job.

I was told the owner purchased that beautiful crackle mammoth ivory 12 years ago and has been waiting for just the right opportunity to use it. I would say he did just that. Again, and outstanding Bowie in every respect.

Patience pays off! I love the results on this. That ivory is showing its stuff on an exceptional bowie. So much going on, so well done. Great work Terry!
