Hi, I'm thinking of getting a quick draw scabbard for either my 12" AK or 15" Sirupati. About how much should a scabbard cost and arethey made from the old scabbard or from scratch? I ask cause I want to keep the old scabbard. Thanks,

Heber Ellsworth

Terry can make the scabbard from scratch but he will need the knife in order to get a custom fit.

Wildmanh,
A scabbard for either one of those will run $55.00+ sh.
I'll need the khukuri and the chakma and karda to fit them to the new sheaths.
Uncle,
Thanks for the help. Its hard to answer on the forum while I'm munchin on a 20lb. Ham.

Thanks for the info Terri, when I have the money I'll place an order (Already spent this paycheck on Khuks :D). One other thing, what's it normally cost to ship? Thanks again,

Heber Ellsworth

I think the USPS is around $3.95, unless it's been raised recently, for anywhere in the lower 48.
At least that's what I paid the last time I sent a package.
It should still be less than $5.00 even if the cost has raised a bit, Dayumed sure not more than $10.00.
HTH.;)

Cool! Thanks Yvsa. Now to save up the money and deside which Khuk gets the new scabbard. :)

Another question for the Sarki Shop, How much would it cost to get a canvas cover made for a 15" Ang Khola. Thanks in advance,

Heber Ellsworth

I don't know the costs at the Sarki shop but I do know that Sandi's canvas covers are very nice, indeed. And she gets her work done a lot quicker than Terry.

Canvas covers run $20.00 each. Just send the sheath, The knife isn't needed. Uncle, Sandi does a great job on the covers and she gets them done fast. I'm gonna get the shop lined out and it will help speed up the process.
Uncle, The 30" khukuri will be done this week end.
Take care.
Terry

You should be working all night tonight on that 30 incher. You have not yet learned how to work 20 hours per day like me.

If you spend 3 hours gnawing on a 20-pound ham (a conservative estimate), 15 or 16 hours sitting around with your feet up watching Sandi sweat blood sewing canvas scabbard covers, and then you spent 20 hours working, then after your 6 hours estivating that would add up to 45 or 46 hours in a day, and you can't do that on Earth. That's why it takes so long for you Earthlings to get anything accomplished; your days aren't long enough.

They will be eventually, though, and you could hasten that process along if you'd just move your moon in a little closer.

Yvsa, Shipping on khukuris priority mail insured will probably run between $8 - $12 the big khukuris may be a bit more. This is generally the amount we pay in shipping.

God Bless,
Sandi

I didn't take into consideration the weight of a package.
Just shows that I haven't shipped any khukuris, only little 15 standard knives.:D

Thanks all, for the information. Now I just need to save up my money for the scabbard and a canvas cover. Looks like I won't be able to get any more blems this month, but it's worth it :)

Now the sun is setting and once again I haven't accomplished as much as I wanted to today -- is that because I'm lazy? No! If there were more hours in the day I would be able to sit around and relax for 15 or 16 hours enjoying my morning coffee and still get a good day's work done. It's not my fault the Earth rotates too fast....

That's the same problem Terry Sisco has -- not enough hours. But when you work 20 and sleep only a couple like me 24 is enough.

Terri, what kinds of fabric can be used instead of canvas for a cover? My 16" GS wants one, can tall what fabric as of yet, but I know it doesn't want canvas. Something nicer is all it's saying to me right now. :)
