Well don't just sit there, Chad, start blabbing! And be quick about it and don't forget the pics!
We're waaaaiting...

Aloha ALL,

Alrighty...sorry my errands took so long.:o

Anyway, our very own mod here who goes by TJT sent me a Boker Plus Camo Defender folder. Terry IIRC had designed this lil' bad boy! (Right on bro!). Here are some basic specs of the Camo Defender: OAL 7 3/4", Blade Length 3 3/8", weight is a hefty 6.1oz. Price point is INSANE...a mere $20USD!

Okee doke...first thing I noticed when I took this knife out of the box was it's weight. I am not really sure if the handle is made up of aluminum or SS...they are thick and hefty whatever they're made of! I then noticed the many opening "devices" on this one...ya got thumbstud, opening cutout, as well as an ala Carson Flipper! Cripes! The Camo Defender comes in the tip down position, so I immediately changed it to the proper and only way to carry: tip UP. By doing so, I now added one more opening feature in the form of an "ala Emerson" wave. Double cripes.

All methods of opening work well, but if ya plan on waving the knife out of pocket, beware...it ate my BDU seam pretty fast! My fave is the flipper. When I use the thumbstud, I get kinda pinched by the flipper. This one requires a bit of extra wrist "oomph" to open with the flipper, but that's no big deal since I am used to it with my Trance model.;) Here is a size comparison with my DIREKT ME:

Manipulation is fast and fun, and oddly enough, the most comfy grip for me, is edge up forward grip. My hand is small enough to grip the "CD" in four positions. Oh, speaking of four positions, the handle has holes pre-drilled for four way carry. Also on the handle is that "skateboard type tape", for added retention.

Anyway, I plan on carrying this one designed by TJT for awhile and updating when or if anything "developes". One thing this knife has been affected by already is the climate here in Hilo...it's gotten some freckles on the handle! Mahalo much for allowing me to play with this knife of yours Terry...now, when is the...:foot:!!!

God bless!

Nice, dude! I like the different opening options. I'm sure it can also be opened kinetically, a la the Lapu Lapu Corto.

Thank you for the review, and the kind words on it, KnifeBro, and all the
rest of you guys.

The handle scales are aircraft aluminum, with dual steel liners. It needed to be extra strong for the market it was designed for.

We received the first batch of 600 at the end of Aug/beginning of Sep, and they are all gone already.
Future stock will all be combo edge, the PE was a welcome factory mistake.

DW, as far as the ... other thing, I honestly have no idea. I haven't been given an update for over 5 months, and don't know what else to do...
It's in CFDs hands, I can't do anymore.
Thanks, Terry

Yo Ter,

Hey isn't that why Tobias is here?:p

Pity that it won't stay plain-edged, but that is simply an awesome piece. Looks-wise, it's gorgeous, but those opening options...It's a jack of all trades! Try opening a thumb stud knife with winter gloves on. However, I prefer studs for casual use. I also have been looking into the Flipper as a reliable opening method for the fun factor. And...it can wave? Is it also voice activated? Blade shape is admirably classic, but that double-hilt design is more of a hint than the paint job at its market. I'll admit, I've handled some 'hilted' folders from some other brands...Tempted, but the price was high with little promise of quality.

Can't carry one in my state, but I have some friends in digi-camo who may like something like this in their care packages. I'll have to handle it first, but I trust the brand, even at these prices.
