I just received a new Century Starfighter today, and I have to say so far, I love it. Who else out there has had experience with Terzoula knives. I am now thinking of putting an order in to Bob for a Ti or Carbon fiber handled ATCF.

Brian

I own (or have owned) just about every Terzuola folder. As you can tell, I'm a great fan of his knives. I currently have a TTF-6 with Black Ti coated blade. Bob does not offer Black Ti coating any longer as his source is no longer in business, so I hear. I also have a ATCF w/G10 scales and 50 yr 14kt gold plug on blade (Bob did this on his knives the year of his 50th birthday)and it's one of my favorites. Had both the Century Starfighter and MicroStar - they are very nice pieces and I kind of regret trading them last year.

BH I have both the starfighter and the ti atcf and these are 2 of my favorite knives.Go ahead and order the atcf you will not be disappointed

i too am a proud owner of Terzuola's knives. the ATCF and Starfighter. The ATCF is a really nice folder, kind of on the thin side. Feels good in the hand. You won't be disappointed!

Dexter,

One of the reasons that I decided to purchase the Century Starfighter was because of the review that you did on it. It hasn't left my pocket for about a week now. I havn't had much of a chance to use it, but now I have a few scratches on the clip. Oh well, I don't think that this one will leave my collection.

BH - glad the review was of help to you. Hopefully it will not be your last Terzuola

I saw at the most recent Blade Show a carbon fiber handled Starfighter, at Bob Neal's table. Came back the second day and it was GONE! It's very attractive in carbon fiber.

Dexter- The carbon fiber would look good. What was Bob's price on it? I think within the next few months that I am going to put my order in for a CF handle ATCF. Do those have one or two liners? Also considering Titanium. Decisions, decisions.

Brian

Brian, I would recommend the solid titanium or titanium bolstered (if you can afford to spring an extra $100.00 or so) ATCF. Both have double titanium liners for added strength. The solid titanium is nice but thinner than the bolstered. I like them both.......

Yes, the bolstered ones are worth the extra $100. I kept coming back to his table at the Blade Show 2 years ago to look at them. He brought quite a few but every time there were less and less. The one I really liked had bolsters and burgundy micarta scales very unique!

BH - I don't recall the price on the carbon fiber Starighter, but you can be assured it would be in the $500 range. Feel free to email Bob Neal at knives@mindspring.com . IIRC, Bob said that the Cf version was made at his request and is not something that Bob T will offer as an option permanently. Hope this helps

The carbon fiber star fighter got bought out from under me at the blade show at Bob Neal`s booth.I contacted Bob T and he said he could make another for $450,but about 9-10 month wait.Les Robertson found one for me in stock and I bought his.
Dexter,The knives I buy on your recommendation are the ones I`m always happiest with. You`ve got the knack. The starfighter is no exeption, and has become my favorite knife. Thanks!

Thanks for all of the input. I think that I will go with the full Ti handle version of the ATCF. I will place the order after Christmas, so that I will have time to start saving for it. Bob T makes some great knives. I showed My starfighter at a gun and knife show to a few knife dealers, and they all wanted it, of course no one would pay me what I wanted for it, so I gladly kept it. For Now, I will have to wait for my custom Carnivour to arrive in a couple of days.

Bh,

I will second Shore’s suggestion with respect to double liner. Bolstered and Ti handle ATCF does give added strength, but it also add weigh to the over knife. If you’re not concern with the cosmetic aspect, go with a solid Ti handle ATCF– it’s lightest of the double liner. And if you could live with the extra weight and a $100 more, then I would definitely go with a bolstered model.

I have the bolstered micarta ATCF and it feels perfect in my hand - I prefer the its feel over the full ti handled version. But keep in mind, in some ways it is almost an entirely different knife. If you want slim profile & lighter weight, the Ti handled ATCF is the better choice. On the other hand, the bolstered version is a heftier knife, the micarta scales have palm swells, and it is more attractive (and more expensive).

Ultimately, it would be best to handle different models before you make any decisions. Good luck!
