Have any of you seen the knife made by Jerry Trentham in his ad on the top of page 101 in the new Blade? Maybe it's just me because I am a ATCF fanatic(as I check pocket to make sure it's still there), but to me this knife looks like on of Bob's, especially the blade.

Now before anyone starts thinking I'm criticizing Mr Trentham, I am not. I am actually wondering if he worked with Bob at some time. Alot of times when makers work with another, their knives look similar, at least for a time.In the beginning Audra Draper's knives looked like Ed Fowler's, and you can definitely see the Loveless influence in Steve Johnson's work(though IMO Steve has passed Bob in fit and finish).

So, anybody have any info on Jerry Trentham? I know Bob T sometimes reads the forums, maybe he'll see this.

Thanks Neill, I was afraid I'd get slammed for making false accusations which wasn't why I was asking. After all, how many guys make Loveless style knives? I just want info, and his prices look pretty good too.

You're not alone in this Dave, I thought the resemblance to the ATCF was uncanny. Hopefully there is a legit connection between him and Terzuola just like the Camillus CUDA folder/Phil Gibbs/Terzuola connection.

Dexter, thanks for mentioning the CUDA folder. I often thought the blade was just like Bob's but there's never any mention of him except in connection with the fixed blade.
Was starting to think I was seeing ATCF blades everywhere.

Dave - I think the reason why Bob T wasn't mentioned in connection with the CUDA folders is that he is already collaborating with Spyderco on folders (didn't want to rile Sal

) so that was kept hush-hush. With the fixed blade, the CUDA CQB-1 and CQB-2 models are the only production fixed blades he designed for Camillus.

Just an observation on my part, but I always thought that Terzoula designed folder would make an awesome fixed blade utility knife. I picture the exact same design, only not a folder, but a full tang knife in a concealex crossdraw sheath. The design has it all; a checkered thumbrest, a finger stop/guard on the underside and a comfortable handle shape. Am I alone on this one? Heck, even if I am, I am going to make myself one of these little utility knives.
