I already posted some comments in Spyderco's home forum, but I wanted to share my innitial thoughts on the new Terzuola slipit here.
Managed to get one in my hands today and I'm quite impressed with the design. The fit and finish were excellent. The twill CF is very nice, looks good and provides a grippy texture on the handle. Very different than the smooth CF on the Caly 3 or Native 4. The CF backspacer is a nice touch. The lanyard looks nice but doesn't add much functionality. Nice, simple clip design, should be easy to reverse for southpaws with a Torx driver.
The slip-joint action desfinitely takes some getting used to after handling other Spydercos like the Para-Military with very smooth actions. The action is on the stiff side, definitely biased towards a closed position. The half-stop is helpful, as it allows me to reposition my thumb slightly for the final push to open the blade fullly. No worries about the blade closing unexpectedly. The ball detant "lock" keeps it open and secure with no horizonal or vertical blade play.
My Terzuola arrived shaving sharp and the blade is a great size for the office or around the house. I'm looking forward to carrying it at work the rest of the week. Looks stylish and sheeple-friendly at the same time. Another great product from Spyderco.
