Take Down/Light Weight Bowie-
O-1 Steel
5/32" thick
flat ground with slight convex
distilled tappered, 9.5" blade/15" overall
diffentially heat treated, RC 60/58
416 ss guard/butt
curly maple
My wife claimed this one for herself but is will to let it go at the right price.;)
Enjoy looking. We bought some 1" manilla rope to play with we'll let you know the out come!

The peg on the end is one of the different " nuts" I have made, some have holes, some have hexes, and some are plain. They all have a shoulder and have a 10-32 thread about .75" deep. They are made of either 416ss, Brass or nickel silver.:cool:

All 6 of the proto types have been made by stock removal. I am practicing so when I set up and get use to my forge I will be making Bowies that are forged.:D :thumbup:

I will not be making any sheaths because these are really just prototypes. But if my Wife/Manager wants to sell it Tree Stump Leather makes a FINE sheath. No royalties are taken for the referral. ;)
