i just ordered a rosewood swiss champ
the pics show the inlaid cross as we all are familiar with
the new version has a stamped cross-ie no metal inlay
when did this start?
and
anyone know for certain why?- i can guess but just wondered if anyone actually has inside info-i presuem cost saving either workmanship or destruction of rosewood in the process (which tends to be brittle)
i wonder if this is a trend to being to save costs as i see more and more models with stamped and inked crosses in addition to the traditional metal inlay
