Hi-

I'm trying to compare photos that I link from Photobucket to photos attached directly through BF. I have noticed that the photos I am uploading and linking from Photobucket lose saturation or "snap" compared to the raw jpeg stored and viewed on my computer.

Here's a pic linked from photobucket:

Here's the same pic as an attachment through BF:

Now they should be the same size for you... :)

Edit: Well that didn't work too well... I thought all you had to do was replace with
???

Ok... lets try this again...

OK, the colors look about the same. Can anyone give me any hints on how to tweak my jpegs for posting on the web to get the same final effect as when I view the native jpeg stored on my hard drive? Is it boosting the saturation? Contrast?

Thanks,

Dan

Hmmm, didn't scale the same ?

when the pic is enlarged, it will lose some resolution.

maybe resize it in photobucket?

It doesn't seem like a resolution problem, it seems more like saturation or contrast. When I compare the uploaded version to the native version on my hard drive, the colors seem dull. The sharpness is about the same. I might try some tests tonight with boosted saturation or contrast to see how it looks.

I use photobucket for my pic hosting... I just compared my original pics (Nuke SHSH) with the ones I've posted. There is not any noticable difference as far as I can tell.

My source pics are usually very large (3888x2592 @ 72 dpi resolution) and I resize them in Photoshop, typically to 1190x850 @ 170 dpi. I rarely adjust contrast or brightness... unless I reall like the shot and I've over/under exposed the shot.

Hope this helps somehow.

That's good to know, since I've seen your shots and they look great. I'll keep playing with this and see what else I cad find out. I'll try some with my good camera too and see what I find out.

Thanks again for the info.
