Testament of SageII greatness...so great I had to trade it!

Went to my Dr.(who's a huge knifenut as myself) this past thursday.
Every time I go I take a differant knife to show him, and he shows me his new goodies.

I gave him my SageII to check out, and he pulled out his old scratched up Sebenza(small reg. with BG42) to compare it to.

After fondling and comparing grips he tells me "I would much rather have your knife". I tell him where I got mine, and how much if cost. He said " I meant do you want to trade?" I said "sure, but your knife is worth more than mine, are you sure?" He handed it right over...and i asked again, are you sure? He said yes, he liked the SageII much more, and didn't want to fool with buying one/selling his. In other words he wanted it RIGHT then.

He knows his stuff, and IMHO feel in a way its a testament to how great the SageII is myself.

Good thing...I like the reg. sebbie better than my classic, and had been looking for a good user just like it.
Bad thing...Now I gotta buy another SageII:p

Great story. And yes, the SageII really is a snazzy piece. Sal is getting mindblowing quality out of that Taiwan shop. He's fixin to set the "upscale" knife industry on it's collective ear. I'm looking forward to future Sage models.

I really never was into Spydercos...until I saw the Sage II. I've got to do myself a solid and get one...or two! :)

Good story, and a decent trade! ...Mebbe you should have a few more on hand and ready to trade for each upcoming appointment with him... ;)

Worthless without pix and all that.

I usually don't care for knives this small, but the ergos are great. The choil and thumb ramp fit my hand perfectly. YMMV.

Good trade! Those BG42s are great. I have a Sage 2 also and it's a personal favorite.

Here's a pic of mine.

Matt Cucchiara anodized and next fizzed(put holes) the surface for decoration and improved grip.

^ That fizz treatment looks Great!

Yeah, it was one of those rare good trips to the Dr,lol. But I do enjoy the couple of times I see him each year. We waste alot of his time talking/showing knives...I bet his patients behind me hate me:p

Jaxx, I think you would really like the SageII. You'll have to check one out at Blade. I'll see you there friday:thumbup:

Does that fizz go on the other side too? I'd be curious to see the opposite side of that beauty, if you have a chance and wouldn't mind too much. ;)

After the wonderful experience with the Sage 1 I really can´t see the greatness with the Sage II, got´em boath and I treasure the Sage 1 a lot more. I guess I´m not a fan of titan handels...

No they don't go all the way through and the other side is just anoed blue and no fizz. When I get a chance I'll take a pic.

I love your Doc! I wish mine was that cool, let alone have a knife in is pocket. Time for a new Doc. Oh and I wouldn't mind a Sage II either

Have put som hard use to my Sage 2 now and I´m impressed, very impressed and I like it a lot more now, but still I rank the Sage 1 as the winner (IMHO).
Can´t wait for the Sage 3:thumbup:

Neat story, the Sage2 is definitely a winner. I seem to find myself picking the Sage1 out of the drawer more than anything lately but could live with the 2. ;)

Sage 2 is one of my favorite knives. Sage 3 is going to be another great sucess.

Hey you guys with both sage 2s and sebs., does the sage 2 lock up as solidly as the seb? I lost my seb last August and can't afford a new one:(
I am considering the sage 2 as a replacement. Is the overall construction as good?
Thanks.
