I know all you guys have used a Busse Knife for something you wouldn't dare use another knife for. What is it?
I myself am not a Knife Thrower(can't ever get it to stick) and I've broke a few knifes that weren't made for it. But the other day I was out with my BA-E and I decided to give it a go. Ker-Thunk, Ker-thunk, Ker-Thunk, well it didn't really go Ker-thunk because once again I couldn't get it to stick (more like Ker-thunk, plop) but the knife showed no wear or damage. Just wanted something more, I proceeded to then do the job my wife had sent me out to do and that was tear out some old evergreen bushes. I'm sure it would have been easier to get the Chainsaw out, but that Badger just ripped right through those bushes. The Badger really is quite a chopper for its size.
These aren't the worst jobs ever just what comes to mind.
So what have you guys used your Busses for?

Spearfishing 100 miles off the coast of Florida, my buddy shot a rather large grouper (well in excess of 100lbs). We typically gut the fish in the cockpit of the boat prior to throwing them in the fishbox on ice, but this one was so large we needed to filet him as well if we wanted anymore room in the fishbox for other fish. Well, when my buddy went to cut in to the fish with his cheapie fixed blade, the knife abruptly broke in half due to the toughness of the fish's leathery skin !

Well, fortunately I had my new straight handled SteelHeart with black coating on the boat - just in case of emergencies (like this one!). The SH made short work of cleaning this massive creature - and was none the worse for wear...

thought I would include a pic of this 'puppy', just wish I had taken an "after" shot with the SH in the pic as well !

By the way, the knife was (of course) still shaving sharp after cutting thru all that flesh, bone, etc !!

Contender,
Would one of the LMS work or is it too heavy. I'm not into diving so I'm just guessing.
BTW, Congrats on winning something on the www.bussecombat.com site. Not sure what but you won with the "zero tolerance" name.

Went hiking Sunday with a buddy and our respective sons. When we got to an old camp, we decided to fix the shelter. Pulled the straight handled Steelheart II off my web gear, and we started cutting line and rearranging things. Told our teenage boys to fetch a pole that took two of them to carry, then I let them chop it in half with the SH II.

Only drove a nail a little bit with the pommel of the SH II. My buddy knows what the knife is worth, and said he didn't have the heart (nail didn't even leave a mark).

Later, skimming Blade Magazine while Wife shopped, I found I'm spoiled. I'd look at somebody's latest outdoor and survival knife and think, "Yeah, that's OK, but I HAVE A BUSSE!"

It really is nice to have something (anything) that you can hand to a teenage boy and NOT worry about him breaking it.

Used my Basic#5 last weekend on an ATV ride. Two close friends had a pretty bad accident which put them over a bluff with the atv on top of both.My Basic#5 cleared a path over the hill for EMT crews to get in with stretchers,Cut brush to help stabilize both as they were immobile and to get weeds out of everyones face and also cut saplings for bracing ones leg up for comfort. It also cut rope and line to hold the ATV up and out of the way.The knife was a definite plus to an otherwise unfortunate situation.

Other than that, I used the blade of my BA/E to open the box containing my brandy new Sheel Heart II. THAT is something that I would only do with a Busse!

Use my LMS pretty much every day to cut up my "leftovers du jour" at lunch. I've also found it's just the right size for demolishing junkmail, slicing tomatoes & cukes, busting up chickens into parts, cutting twine and trimming branches for yard waste pickup, breaking down cardboard boxes, scraping spills off the floor, stripping insulation off electrical wires, prying open sticking doors & drawers, slitting parts out of blisterpacks, digging staples out of wood, trimming the edge of a binding door on the shed by using it like a scraper, removing plastic safety wraps from bottle necks, cutting off dangling clothes threads, removing bandages & bandaids. It's just the handiest little bugger.

Camping last year in Maine - used my SHII to carve and hammer tent pegs, split kindling, build a small shelter (it rained all week), and a number of other mundane tasks. It sure beat having to carry in a hatchet, camp knife, a small fixed blade and a sharpening stone.

In the process of building a deck. I use my SH-II to chisel cut boards to final fit.
