Here’s an experiment that worked pretty good. I put the knife between 2 pieces of .02 copper flashing using brass screws to hold it together.

The positive are: the hold tension has very precision adjustments by turning the screw a 1/4 turn. You really dial in your perfect draw weight. It’s very easy to clean and rinse out. It’s makes a great sound when drawing, like a Japanese sword movie… Copper is good bearing surface.

The negatives are that it’s a little heavy. 8oz vrs 4oz for kydex. The point of the knife can Knick the copper when re sheathing.

But overall it worked out pretty good, it’s a good option for those who draw their frequently in dirty conditions.

This one I designed like an iPhone thinking it would comfortable in the pocket, it kind of worked, but I would move the clip to the side next time.
