This is my first real attemt to use the new digital camera that Santa brought me

The knife is from DeLeon Custom Knives out of Lubbock Texas. My dad had it made for me about a year or two ago. What do you think of my picture taking, and the knife itself? It has a 10" blade, 1/4" thick. This seemed like a good excuse to play with the camera

Richard; I am glad that my initial impression was incorrect. You did not post a non-knife topic on this forum. Thank God. Only Mikey is allowed to do that!

It is a good picture. May I inquire as to the brand and pixel number of your camera? You may use e-mail. We don't want to tax you-know-who's patience.

One thing about photography about which most people are unaware is that the lighting is possibly the most important part. I suggest you invest in one of those collapsable circular light reflectors, which will yield bright, diffused light. This may well increase your photograph quality exponentially.

Hope this helps, Walt

Richard,
Congratulations on your new camera. That's a beautiful knife, and you've done a very nice job of photographing it. Seems like quite a few members have received Digital cameras for Christmas, and are trying them out. Ed Caffrey posted a thread just the other day, and you might find it to be of interest to you. http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum32/HTML/002044.html
Have fun, take lots of pictures, that's the way to get really good, but there is nothing wrong with your first shot.

Richard thanks for the picture..

For all you digital camera people:
What would recomend for a starter camera,
less than 500.00

Thanks

Thanks for the link to the camera site. My camera is the Olympus D340-R. Mine also came with the optional ni-cads and charger.
