http://www.stateparks.com/millwood_state_park_in_arkansas.html Try Millwood State Park. They have primitive sites. It is also near Old Washington State Park which was where James Black supposedly made the first Bowie knife. And the Texarkana College/Bill Moran School Of Bladesmithing.
There's a recreation of Black's forge at the state park in Washington. Black is buried somewhere in the old pioneer cemetery. And, on the plus side, the paper mill at Ashdown, AR doesn't smell nearly as bad as it used to!
Backstory is, I grew up in Sevier County, AR about 60 miles north of Texarkana.
Thanks for the information. I am going to check out Millwood State Park. My son is meating some friends there before leaving for the Army in a few days. They are going to have a big Airsoft match. I am going to go check out the Bladesmith school to see if I can get funding to it to go there, but only if I can find work in the area.
This isnt one of those lakes they decided to reintroduce gators to is it?
Arkansas State Parks are some of the nicest in the country. I used to camp a lot in the winter months and loved the hot showers and no other campers in the campground.
