ok, I'm kinda new here. Well, I've been out of the game for a while anyway. Today I saw a picture of a knife that stoked my fire. A guy in a FB group posted a pic of his TX cattle knife. I must own one because...we'll, you all know why because you suffer the same obsession or you wouldn't be here. The knife he posted has a bail. But when I search for one on retail sites (many are sold out!) the ones I find don't have one. I like bails. Not sure why. I just do. So what gives? Thanks in advance for the education.

With all dude respect, what are you talking about? Any links, vivid descriptions, or images? We need something to work with! We obviously love knives and we are willing to help but we need something to start with. Or am I missing something and I'll feel silly?
Edit: Yea I feel silly, I initially thought it was some guy in Texas that works with cattle had a knife! It took about 6 seconds after hitting post what you were referring to. Silly me! Have a great evening!

Looks to me like he wants to find a Texas cattle knife with a bail? Seems simple enough but I know nothing about traditional knives so I’m no help.
Good luck on your search C Casey_C

Thank you. And I apologize for the lack of a photo for reference. A) I was posting on the fly while simultaneously lugging boxes and boxes of Christmas stuff in from storage because my wife the slave driver decided tonight was the night for that and B) I couldn't figure out how.

Thank you folks.

The Texas Cattle knife has three blades (and no bail). It is based on the same pattern as the Camp knife above, so looks like it at a glance!

I would love to see a Churchill or TK Cuban single spring pattern on the 98 frame!

Or a Northwoods rustic jack of some kind. Or any 2 blader. Haha, I do love the 98!

I have been after a texas whittler and those things all are selling for 2 times what their initial price was.

Marbles makes a very nice Cattleman's whittler and a Cattleman's Jack, but alas no bail on either.
