Just starting my Auto collection and was wondering if anyone can decipher the Penal Code.

IIRC, you can't carry daggers, bowies, or autos. Other than that I think you're ok with anything under 5.5", fixed or folded, open or concealed. There should be someone else here who will be able to tell you for sure.

I hope my post on your topic in auto knife forum helped. If you've got more questions shoot me an e-mail and I'll try to dig up some more links for you to look at. I've been trying to research this for a while.

From the Texas State Government web site you can access state statutes. You might start with TITLE 10. OFFENSES AGAINST PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY AND MORALS. Chapter 46. Weapon., 46.01. Definitions, 46.02. Unlawful Carrying of Weapons, and 46.15. Nonapplicability. They appear to be relevant.

There are probably other laws that apply and of course this does not cover case law.

I am not a lawyer, so I only know what I read and I haven't read everything.

I hope this helps.
