All I can say is its like going from a heat lamp to a swamp, all the humidity in Houston vs the dry air there will be a real change for you.
Bring lots of anitpersperant! Its really bad in Corpus later in the year, right now its quite tolerable.
As far as the laws in Texas dont bring a double edge, balisong, auto, or anything with a blade length of over 5 1/2" Those griptilians will be just fine. Good choice btw! I like the griptilians.

lol!! Yea Esav sometimes it looks like Tejas is the Outlaw state! I did make a visit to Arizona last year for the AKCA show and THAT is a law free state!! Open carry of guns, knives of all kinds including autos and butterfly knives!! When you go to the grocery store and there is an old lady there with a Colt Python on her hip you know your in Arizona!! I was in Hog Heaven!!!!!
