Thanks for looking!

Great looking design and IMO steel for a chopper.

That handle material is new to me. What is it?

Nice looking work. Very nice.

Thanks for the comments!

Much appreciated!

The handle material is something special that Mark Nelson made for me.

It started out as a joke called "Crackarta"

It has cotton, denim, burlap and paper in different colors from different sources. He also sprinkled in some gold glitter and who knows what else.

Its the most horrific handle material I have ever worked with, killing belts and tooling faster than the F22 Carbon Fiber that I use so much of.

It does provide a very highly textured surface that really feels secure in the hand and it is very unique.

Here is a closeup of some Crackarta on a small Sportster.

Thanks.

Very beautiful design. I second that A2 and a convex grind is perfectly suited for a chopper. The "crackarta" is funky, I like it!

HeyMike! Great looking!!! That handle mat, could be hot at Christmas time. Kinda looks Christmasie! Mike and Manuela-Hey, You going to Spirit of Steel?

How thick is the blade at the spine? I would like the knife better if it didn't have that black stuff all over the blade, but I do like the design.

Hey Keith,

This one is .125" thick at the spine.

I build the Kukri both ways (handrubbed finish or powdercoat)

I like the handrubbed version better but the finished knife costs nearly twice as much as the powdercoated counterpart due to the additional labor.

Here are some existing clients and some future clients with a handrubbed Texas Kukri blank (in progress)

Thanks Everyone!

That's quite the look on that young man's face.

Even at almost twice the price, my preference would be for the handrubbed finish.
