I'm trying to find a source for the textured black g10, the kind where one side can be peeled off to leave the textured surface. Is all g10 like that? Does some heat need to be applied to start the peel? Thanks guys!!!

Hi,I my self have not seen any of that g-10.I bead blast mine to get the textured effect.Have you tried that?

Haven't tried bead blasting it yet, thanks Brad! What kind of beads do you use and what pressure? I bought a sheet of black g10 from Halpern but haven't used any yet. Sure hope it's the peel away kind.

Hi Mike!
I use med glass beads for most of my blasting. With med beads on G-10, you have to go at it a bit longer, but for me the med glass beads offer a wider variety of finsihes than I can get with course or fine beads, it all depends on how long you blast the surface. I own a small Snap-On blasting cabinet which seems to work best at around 70psi, pulling 9-11 cfm. Don't worry about splintering G-10, you can do just about anything to it without really messing it up.

Mike,
I blast G-10, micarta, and carbon fiber with the ceramic bead. Leaves a nice finish.
