Hey gang,
Thought some of you phenolic fans would like to see something I whipped up for a friend.
He wanted a factory textured orange G-10 handle for his small Sebenza. Textured G-10 is hard to come by, as its usually sold smooth. Any subsequent texturing is either done by bead blasting, or grooving like an Anso or Strider.
I lucked out and found some nice stuff at Halprens, but it was only .080 thick. I cut two pieces and then glued (slow set epoxy) them together making it .160 thick. I re-thicknessed it down to .140. After the glue had set, I tried to flex the piece, I could barely move it it was so stiff!
Here's a couple photos I snapped this morning in the kitchen. Now I'm sending to Tom Krein for a blade regrind. Hope my buddy likes it!
