Hey everyone,
I'm planning on making G10 knife scales with slabs of layered g10 and I have some questions.
I want to make a pattern like this: so I know you go forward and back with a dremel

But with layered G10 so it looks like this:

So if I use a dremel to do this do I do a forward and back movement and the scale will look like that?

Like in this picture below (from left to right) to get the pattern do you left to right, a wave movement, then forward and back ward?

I got all these pics off google so sorry if they are blurry or anything.

Thanks for any help, I'm a complete noob with this stuff.

I'm not sure what you mean by forward and back? Like make both sides of the pattern in one pass?

I would suggest working your way around the handle. So one groove at a time across the top of the handle and then across the bottom. That way you can evenly stagger the pattern.

Ya sorry i meant back and forth to make one groove. Like on and off pretty much. But is that what you do to get the effect in the second pic?

Thanks 9blades, and if you do it like that will it look like picture two (if you're using layered g10)?

To be honest I don't realy know, I only played with a couple scrap pieces of wood to see if I like the pattern......but it should.

You could try and contact rival1314 (rival customs aka Keeth)
