One for every beer I've had in the last hour. Picked my favorite mid size INFI blades to compare to the TG. Damn. I'm on my ninth. Not taking another picture.

In Order:
HBC & MBC :D
NMSFNO
TG LBS
SAR-6 LE
ASH 1 SE
BJ LE
RMD LE

Damn. RMD LE is not INFI -- must've mistakes for the BATAc that I don't have. I think that means I should order another TG. Or another 3. I love this knife! I won't wrest until I find the satin & Tigerhide Bowie from Knob!!!

And more mid size blades. I seem to focus my energies on the big & small. Better go to sleep before I buy more INfI :O.

Good job on the consumption...must be lite beers...stop messin around and hit the whiskey already:rolleyes:
I'm totally jonesing, so thx for the pic fix...what's the color combo...gray and black g10?

Ha. It was my leftovers from cinco de mayo :D. Once I hit a bottle of liquor, I don't stop, so it's a good thing it was just beer or else I would be pretty sloppy for my third to last day at my current job.

The TG is tanker and black paper. I'm a black canvas guy, but wanted to try something new. No regrets!

Thanks for the pic, <FLUX>.

Makes it just a bit harder to wait for my TGLB (Tanker with black canvas) to arrive.

Did you get the Spec Ops sheath offered?

And if it's not too much to ask can you snap 2 pics. A closer side-by-side and a spine shot of the TGLB along with the NMSFNO? Please.

i'll have to get a bm or bwm version sometime eventually just to have at least one huge chopper, and that brag factor, but mid-size blades are the far more realistic 'always strapped' all around camp/field knives, as one's main utility tool.... nice set of mid-sized blades and that photo helps me a lot [others too i'm sure] to better judge size differences between the iconic mid-sizes... i'm actually surprised [positively] to see that the tglb isn't that much smaller than the nmsfno, thought there would be more size difference.... i'd also like to see those spine shots of the 2 blades if you could...
rmd le is [the only planned non-infi buy for a long while] next on my list, once i'll get my tglb shipped.... after that i'll either shoot for another infi mid-size [nmsfno or jackhammer, in cf or satin]... or a straight handle bm/bwm if i won't be able to resist the big chopper temptation any longer hehe.... seems like everyday at least another person is getting their tglb, that rocks!!....

Jerzy, I don't have exactly what you wanted for comparison pictures - but close. This is a 1st generation Team Gemini and a SFNO.
Weight: Almost the same - TG .2 oz more, approximately 19 ounces
Length: TG 13", SFNO 12 3/4"
Blade height: TG 1 1/2", SFNO 1 13/16"
Blade thickness: TG about 1/4", SFNO a bit thinner.
Some quick comparison shots:

hey thanks... now these pics are actually quite informative and surprising... thanks for taking/posting these..... hmm, your tg seems to have a rounded spine and the sfno has nice, crisp and sharp spine edges... i won't know until i'll receive mine, but i suppose that the lb version of the tg is finished the same as the original so it also has the rounded spine... i like all my blades to be fire steel/rod compatible and the rounded spine would make the tglb not so - without mods... unless i'll find some good sharp angle elsewhere on my tglb, like the pommel/hilt or something....
i filed down a small length of spine on my edc izula to take off the coating so i can throw some real sparks with a fire rod i also edc, but after filing off the blk coating, the spine got dull and rounded and would barely throw any sparks off my big fire rod [hmm, that sounds almost dirty hehe]... so i then had the spine edges on both sides sharpened on a power grinder and that did the trick... if i don't find a sharp, useful edge on my tglb i'll have to power grind a section of its spine as well and get a sharp, crisp edge for the firesteel....

the other surprise is that the sfno is actually slightly thinner, i was sure it was at least as thick as the 1/4" tg... i really dig the tg's blade shape and overall proportions but the sfno's taller [wider] blade likely makes it a better h/d use all around knife, despite slight give on the blade' thickness.... man, it would be nice to have a cache of all busse models and try 'em all out in various functions hehe.... the good news is that they all hold their value and then some so a trade/sell is always an alternative option... knowing myself however, i'll likely just keep accumulating more busse models if i find some blade somewhat less than ideal... once i buy something i hate selling it, starting with cars down to petty stuff....
};->

[edit] btw, i've ordered my tglb in competition finish, sans any coating so the coating won't be an issue for sparking a rod, only the rounded spine... unless your tg is a nuclear meltown finish and regular tg/tglb's don't have rounded spine edge.... however, i'm assuming that your tg is a satin finish but not 'nm'...

Thank you for the side-sides, westfork. Those two versions of he TG are close enough to get a good overall idea. In hand was a nice bonus too.

AHHHH!!! The satin Tigerhide TG!!! I want, I want!! Beautiful blade bro!

Not a problem at all! Give me a minute to get some pics up.

I did not get the spec ops sheath. I planned on getting Rainwalker leather, but found an old cordura sheath buried in my trunk. I am not sure where it came from and honestly had no idea I had it. It's a PERFECT fit! Rainwalker leather still sounds good, but this will work out great in the meantime!

I was going to mic' em, but the spines are both exactly .25" thick at the ricasso. Once I find my tape measure, I'll measure the difference in blade length; it can't be more than 1/2". That would make sense -- TG = 7.75" NMSFNO = 8.25". Both the TG & NMSFNO have amazing handles. They are perfect for the blade size.

If anyone wants any more angles, or wants me to throw in some other similar size blades, I'd be happy to oblige. Sadly, my FSH must be lost in the mail :(.

Jerzy: I've had a BWM and NMFBM. They have permanently been replaced by my Basic 11 & 10, DF LE & CG. Just something to consider if you like Res-C choppers as much as I do :D.

Very nice!

I think I may have to get a tg afterall....

No problem. Lemme know if you want any other measurements or pictures.

I like annoying my lady by taking out my knives for pics :D.

I thought I was the only one!

Jerzy the TGLB's have the rounded spine and the butt is rounded as well. I use the choil for a striker on a fire rod in a pinch. Most of the time I use a piece of hacksaw blade on the lanyard with the fire steel.

thanks flux and now.... i'm REALLY bloody confused hehe.... your nmsfno is longer than the tglb... westfork's sfno [non-nm] is actually slightly shorter... i don't understand why a nuclear meltdown finish would make the sfno longer, in both blade and handle lengths.... something important to keep in mind when i'll be shopping for a sfno , whether finished as nm or noot... apparently there are different sized sfno's produced, just like bm's....

also, your tglb's spine edge actually looks much more crisper/sharper than westfork's tg.... almost edgy enough to use with a firesteel with very little 'keening' required if any.... since your sf natural outlaw is finished in nm, its spine is of course rounded off along with any other edges so very 2 different comparisons of nearly the same knife models hehe... but that's why it's so helpful to read threads like this, with semi-custom blades one doesn't always get the same specs/features on any particular model i suppose....
i'm wondering what the edge of spine will be like on my tglb in cf... it's not a huge deal, even if it's rounded off/dull as i can always ask someone good on sander/grinder to edge up a small section of its spine for me so it'll throw strong, molten sparks out of my oversized misch firesteel....

hehe, everytime i type 'my big [fire] rod', etc. i feel uncomfortable suddenly.... i bought a couple of 5" long fire rods with 3/8" diameter and a drilled hole from ksf and i dig their extra length/diameter size but it sounds weird typing it up... actually they have even larger - 5" x 1/2" - rods but those won't fit into even the largest standard firesteel loops on most sheaths so i went with the next to lrgest size....

aye, i've been watching the reviews on the bm variations, bwm and the basic series... most of those who test these big blades out seem to feel that the basic series of blades outpeform the full-infi, full tang mistresses.... also, i recently found a thread by l2lku2 here, who did an excellent comparison series of short yt clips early this year, chopping the same piece of a thick branch with various 'choppers' and he also prefers his basic c-res blades for chopping.... arrrrrrggghh, the choices...... but i gotta say, it was an original, straight handled bm with a slight clip point [i think that the clip point on that paricular bm was more pronounced and bowie-like than the 'regular' models] i've seen a few years back, which was the very first busse blade i've seen and it still remains to me as one of the perfect big blade designs and just seems plain badass to me and my aesthetic sense.... i still would love to have that old school' bm in my possession and the fusion handle just doesn't do it for me, purely in aesthetic factor, despite it likely being a superior handle design for real chopping.... if i'll get a basic 11/10, i'll still be pining for a bm or bwm... if i'll get the latter, i'll feel like i'm missing a better performing chopper.... someone stab me in my head....but only with a bm....
