Would a Team Gemini Battle Grade be ok to use hunting? I am positive it will for just chopping brush, but I am talking about ribbing the animal. Would it be alright for the SR-101 to perform a task such as that?

It would certainly hold up to it if that is what you are asking. I would consider a bit thick for skinning and such.

Oh I'm definitely not going to use it for skinning, only ribbing. I prefer a very small, razor sharp blade for skinning.

It is definitely strong enough for anything you can throw at it. SR- 101 is tough stuff and holds an edge well. It will patina an rust, but if you keep it wiped down it is fine.

Sounds good, I've just been reading about SR-101 and people were talking bad about it.

Bad about SR101? Don't believe everything you read o the internet. I prefer sr101 to infi for most of my knife chores.

I have used my scrapper 5 which is sr101 many times for the entire butchering process on deer. INFI is supposed to be better than Sr101in some ways but sr101 is an awesome knife material and I have never had any issues where I felt it was inferior. It can handle any task you throw at it. Just clean it up after or it will rust

I've processed piles of rabbits with my TGLB so I imagine cutting up a deer wouldn't be out of the question.

Thanks for all your input guys, I have been reading and seeing people say that SR-101 is inferior to INFI, and was getting nervous about purchasing a Battle Grade because of the lower price. Now I know for sure I made a good decision and the knife will last me for years to come.

It may be "inferior" in a knife that is really being beat on but for what I use my knives for it holds a shaving edge longer than INFI.

It is made to last and comes with same busse guarantee because they have full confidence in its strength. You will be able to pass your tgbg down as a family heirloom. I prefer sr101 for blades 5" and smaller because it is easy to sharpen and holds an edge very well. My bg wtf has been put to the test and I have used it hard, the only people i have ever heard call sr101 inferior are infi snobs.

I have used a similar sized but thicker Busse's to dress deer, it will do it all if you do you part. As for SR101, one of my favourite knives on game is a Swamp rat HRLM (SR101) and it is brilliant. You made a fine choice.

You should be good to go-Now go and use it!!!
Reading this, I have come to the conclusion that really the only difference between SR and INFI is SR is more corrosion prone? If this is true, I am in luck because mine is Desert Sage coated.
