Don't want to derail brother KNIGHTENFORCER's outstanding TGLB Zebrawood custom handle thread, but maybe it'll be interesting to a lot of new members <and maybe a few HOGS> to compare how Jerry refined the I-beam of the TGLB's handle from working design to production model. Just thought it might be handy to have both threads referenced in one place.
Dobermanic put me on this first thread a while back when I was trying to imagine what the TGLB I-beam handle looked like <without removing the covers> :

Note: about a 1/3 of the way into the post, Jerry mentions the structural changes the TGLB would go thru when they got the tooling set up for final production.
Great comments about the changes made to the primary grind also a little further down. One of my all time favorite threads!:thumbup::thumbup:
Here's KNIGHTENFORCER's pics showing those refinements to the I-beam:
Isn't it remarkable how when you think a basic tool can be refined no further, can't get any simpler, can't get any more ICONIC, can't be made to work more efficiently, basically can get no "better," -- then some engineer, scientist, or hack comes along and turns over the applecart?
I'm proud I can buy, own, admire, <and, yes, most of all> USE such a great American knife!
Can't help but wonder now, if additional refinements have been added to the production model as "rolling changes?"
