TGLB question....

I'm close to ordering a TGLB and was wondering how does it feel in hand? I noticed that it has a blade thickness of .25", which is the same as my first Busse kin knife, a Swamp Rat M6. To me the M6 felt "clunky", as I prefer lighter knives in this size range. The M6 was replaced by a Hell Razor with a 3/16" blade that felt much better. Anyhow, both knives are gone now. Sold long ago to fund other knives that I no longer have, lol. Always on the quest for "THE ONE"! :D

The TGLB feels pretty fast in the hand. It's not as heavy as its heavy brigade forefather, yet it still feels good and solid. GET ONE!!!!! :)

The TGLB weights 18oz if that matters to you, it feels like a small knife in hand, its hard to explain

It's a hunk of steel, but like knifeguy said, it feels a lot lighter than it looks. I love the feel of the handles, I got a 2nd on the way.

Surprisingly lite and agile for a blade of its size. Not many other blades in that size range that feel as fast in the hand as the TGLB.

Unrelated, but I see the LB on the Busse website available for purchase. What are the options if I wanted one with a different blade finish such as double-cut or Comp Finish? I understand that limiting options is one way to keep costs as low as possible, but it seems those finishes are extremely popular?

Other than buying something second hand, is it possible to pay for those options to get what you want?

Thanks

The tglb is just under .25 closer to .22 and the contoured scales really feel good to me, better than the hell razor did. Very quick in the hand too.

For finishes on the tglb you just have coated in different colors from the shop. If you want a competition finish or bead blast you'll need to strip it and do it yourself. Easy enough to do.

Dave,

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but could you order one with those options from their custom shop? Or are those just for specific models?

It kind of amazes me how limited the options ARE, due to the huge popularity of this model with all of the WD publicity for people who aren't even blade nuts wanting one. I wonder if it is possibly one of their MOST popular models they've produced?

Thanks

They did offer it in the competition finish for quite a while, lots of people who didn't understand what that was complained so they quit. As far as I know they don't offer those finishes on that specific knife from the custom shop but you would be better served asking Garth about that. I've thought several times about stripping one of mine and bead blasting it. Then I decide that if i was going to do that I'd need to order one with the black and tan g10 and just haven't gotten around to it yet.

You should get one! I just ordered one a couple days ago and am already impatiently waiting to get it. It says the wait is 4-14 weeks so I guess it will be a while. If anyonr knows about how long the wait time is right now I would appreciate it.

Like the others have said it is surprisingly light in hand. However I would actually have prefered it to be a little thinner. Maybe .20. That being said it is still my favorite fixed blade in that size range. The handle is just amazing.

Yes buy one. Worst case scenario you don't like it, sell it and get your money back.

But you will like it. :D

You should buy two :) Most folks end up doing that :)
