I ordered a TGLB with gray blade and black and tan G-10 when they were first available. Love it. Lately I've been seeing some uncoated TGLB's and I'd like to order one of these with tan micarta scales, but I don't see the uncoated blade as an order option on the Busse site. Any help would be appreciated...

Just call Busse directly and order it that way. I did and just got mine today after a very short wait.
Good Luck

It's called competition finish. Victor14 is right, call and order it with CF.

Just know that you go to back of the line when changing. Happened to me twice.

I think he already has one, and wants to order an additional with the cf finish.

In that case yes, go for it!!! I got mine in the mail today and it is awesome! I've been cutting stuff up all day. Prepared dinner, got rid of junk mail, etc... :)

But this finish is amazing! It really has beauty as well as texture to it.

It's actually just "natural INFI," no coating or special surface work (like DC or satin). So no extra charge, and actually eliminates a step in the process.

Understand that it's a new order for you, so call them or email them to get specifics. But if you did have to change your order, you should not go to the back of the line unless your knife had already reached the point where is was being coated. At least, that's what the gals told me. It was still a long wait for me, but i was told i'd caught it before coating, so no extra time.

Trust me, do it. You will NOT regret a CF finish TGLB.

As i start using it, i find it just gets better looking.

Competition Finish with machined Black Paper TGLB vs satin with handsmoothed Tigerhide Linen TG
I love the competition finish on this blade and will most likely replace it with another one with canvas to keep it light, warm and grippy.

All of these threads talking about TG's and these handle materials motivated me to post up some shots for y'all.

Hey Tim

The skull crusher...isn't that a DC finish on the CF blades? I am holding my TGLB now and it looks like the fuller, spine, edges of the guard and along the edge of the grip look to be DC.

Yeah, that is how they removed the decarb layer to prevent the dreaded (by some, doesn't bother me) surface rust issue. I would take it as a good sign. That treatment started showing up with the CF BWM.

AZTimT Those are some nice blades you got there :)... I'll take the Satin/Tigerhide TGLB :D!
