Tglb vs R9

I like the TGLB more than the R9, although both got sold in the end.

- TGLB is much lighter and faster in the hand than the R9.
- TGLB is INFI, nuff' said.
- TGLB has better edge geometry (thinner).
- TGLB has rounded corners on spine, pommel, etc.
- TGLB has more lashing points for attaching to spears, etc.
- TGLB has drop point, which I prefer to clip point on large knives.
- TGLB handle also allows you to securely choke back for chopping (R9 does too)
- TGLB handle is more comfortable for me in various grip positions, especially reverse grip & icepick.
- TGLB fuller allows you to choke up securely for skinning or other tip usage.


I think that pretty much sums it up for me......

Hands down I'd take the TGLB, carry weight would be extremely important in a situation like this. The fact that is is INFI is just icing on the cake......

In that scenario I would grab the Gemini. Lighter, more lashing points, INFI, and to me it just feels better in the hand.

I'd grab my SHe/BAe combo and be more than happy.

Yes, I have both the TGLB and R9. In the SHTF scenario I'd save these for bartering. Really good knives will be very good trade fodder.
