Anyone have the two of these to compare? Love the Regulator handle but I keep looking at that TG. Any thoughts?

I have both, go TG :)

TGLB better chopper and tougher handle.

TGLB cooler looking (sorry Dan Busse)

I never had a Test Team Regulator, but do have some experience with a De-Regulator and TGLB. That being said, there's no contest here IMO.

The Regulator variants are cool, but I'd rather have a TGLB any day of the week. I don't think the TGLB is three times as nice though, as they retailed for about three times the sticker on the Regulators. But price not being an option, I much prefer the TGLB over the Regulators (I do love the Regulator handles though).

I have both, tglb better chopper and all around knife, regulator better splitter. The regulator handle is more shock absorbing, the tglb locks into my hand better. Regulator takes a little finer edge and holds it marginally better than the tglb. Regulator is less useful slicing stuff in camp, food ect. Its just a bit too thick. If the regulator had the same blade thickness and a sharpened swedge it would be a much better knife, the tglb is just all around a superior useful design.

This might be what I am looking for. I do a lot of battoning with the TTReg, I mean A LOT, and it excels! I get "bees" in my hand even using the 1311. I can slice fine with it and do camp chores. There is no denying the TGLB's coolness factor (I fell in love when Jerry introduced the TG years ago) but I think function (for my uses) is gonna win out here. Of course I will probably have a weak moment and grab a TGLB might be a catch and release though.

I have both .... :D They are very diffferent knives that can't help but get compared. As an alrounder I think the TGLB is a better blade, in the hand I like the TT, for around the camp etc the TGLB....for jamming up between some annoying a##hole's ribs it would have to be the TT.... :D ;)

If I was in an invading army I'd take both with me (only handled TT for a few minutes)

I'd use TT for: felling power poles, dislodging train tracks and collapsing bridges.
TGLB for all the things you need a knife for :D;)

Yep it is tough as John Wayne! I helped a poor sap out this summer who got his hatchet stuck in a log, split the hatchet out then used the back of it to Baton through the rest of the wood.

That is what my Muk or Vex or RMDuex or SAK are for. I know the TTReg isn't the best at these chores but it makes due.

For me it comes down to the handle. The TTReg has the advantage of being ResipreneC which is comfortable for chopping but nothing fits my hand like the TGLB.
