Does a stripper look like a competition finish once stripped? Pics of two I used to own shown.

From what I have seen so far? No.

The Comp finish Busse and stripped blade that I own have a different appearance. Strippers usually smoother, Comp more "nubbly." Quite a term, eh?

Thanks for starting this thread High Desert...

I'd like to see more detailed pics of some stripped blades...

Could be real informative for those of us bellying up to the trough nowadays...

Prefer the dimpling and grind lines of Comp. finish, personally...

I just recently bought my first Busse...LE GW

Saddens me to think about no more Comp. Finish...

Looks like I'm relegated to Secondary Slop to get my fix now...So be it... SUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEYYYYY!

You say a stripper is smoother. Meaning a stripper might have more finishing of the blade before coating as compared to the comp finish?

Are you asking strictly in reference to TGLB, or are other stripped blades allowed for comparison? My understanding is that no stripped blade is actually like CF, but I don't know personally.
I own one stripped blade, a SJTAC, and it is fairly smooth on all surfaces. It actually has a nice patina look to all surfaces. No real dimples anywhere, which I believe is the by-product of the particular grind style of the SJTAC.

The original painted finish seems to be thicker that the equivalent Competition finish. But I only have the Busse's that I own for comparison. Others may want to weigh in on this matter.

My comp finish TGLB has a DCBB finish on the fuller, spine and handle. Darn good looking too!
