Thai Aranyik Knife Questions

hi everybody,

I want to buy this knife and I want to know if someone bought ...


How is the steel Carbon (5160)? It's good like resistance?
Easy sharpens knife?
How is the corrosion?
...etc

5160 isn't an obscure steel or anything, Ontario uses it in a lot of their knives too. It basically functions similar to 1095, 1095 holds an edge a little better but 5160 is a little tougher, it sharpens easily enough, it will rust so keep it dry, etc.
 
Most of Thai Aranyik knife has OK quality IMO...

They heat treat their spring steel (Sup9 equivalent to 5155 AISI) by eye in high-temp stove, edge quench in water then might be a tempering...

It sure wouldn't be the same as ABS multi normalizing in digital control oven with park50 oil quench double tempering 5160 but it usable thought.
