Thailand seems to come up often here, so I thought it might be interesting to share this site I recently found: http://www.usmta.com/weapons-blades.htm

Now I didn't say it, but wouldn't it be neat if the Kamis made some Thai style swords? After all, the "Everest Katana" already looks much more like a Thai Daab than a Katana anyway -- vide:

In fact, it would take little more than a name change and some different engraving to turn the "Everest Katana" into the "Everest Daab"!

Recluse,

The dealer didn't say anything about it's age. But the steel doesn't look too old to me. I think it is the work of this century.

Will,

The blade is 20" in long. With obvious differential heat treating. Most interesting is the spine. It has a ridge like Japanese swords. Weight about 1 pound and balance 4" infront of the handle.

Hope that doesn't increase the loading time too much!

The cutting edge on this on is 18.11 inches and curvature 1.18 inch.
