Howdy folks, I received a triangle box of awesomeness on Monday! Inside was a 24oz Dui Chirra from Thamar, protectively wrapped and arriving without a scratch. It measured right at 19" overall and 14 of that was blade. My first thought was "Whoa...it's lighter than I thought." The handle fit like a glove, perfect for a quick, rolling wrist-snap into some dried firewood. It hit far harder than I expected and sunk in deep but did not bind. After a few more chops, learning the weight and new sweet spot I was thrilled!!! Just what I was hoping for, fairly quick, medium weight and good reach....plus it strikes so hard. The fit and finish were great, as you come to expect with HI, just like Auntie's customer service, it's always tops.
However I also make knives and leather goods....and love to personalize my gear. First off was a left handed baldric style sheath, then BLO soaked the handle and lastly a convex edge. Now after a few tweaks I think its ready to go
