I just stalked down the post man like a gazelle and got my eagerly anticipated Triangle Box™.
I opened it and behold: it is a masterpiece.

It feels so solid, hefty and balanced. It has a COMFORTABLE chunky thick handle. The fullering is beautiful and I have to spend a lot more time staring at them and studying it.

I just had to post quick right upon receipt to let everyone know how happy happy happy I am with the Tin Chirra.

The edge is outstanding, it is very thick and authoritative but at the same time beautifully sharpened and beveled. Sharp and sturdy with a forged almost-hollow-grind.

I greatly underestimated how much I would be impressed by Thamar's work and shame on me for it!

It just begs to be used and it doesn't just sing it sings Opera! I am astonished by the quality and uniqueness of each and every one of my Himalayan Imports.

Auntie, thank you so much for this amazing blade. I can tell it will serve me for a lifetime and far beyond and is a new favorite.

Pictures soon to come.

...but sadly another good postal gazelle goes down in the service of the cause :upset:

Cool otherwise - can't wait to see photos.

Better than USPS in my town... My last triangle box looked like it was trampled by cattle. Of course the bulletproof kukri were fine. The knives were so eager for use they were actually trying to punch their way through the box🙄. I love my TC, you can really get some pretty wood on those chirra handles too. Yes photos!

I've had one or two punch through the end of the box completely. No damage. Sad day though I do love pristine triangle boxes. My collection is starting to take up as much space as BigBores holding areas.

I've had a few punch through, got the postman curious, he now knows what is in those triangle boxes...lol

I just beat up some kindling and I have to say this thing swings like a drilling hammer. The M43 is jealous, hurt, and hiding in the corner. I'll have to try to get it to stop sucking its thumb and get off the floor.
There is a new sheriff in town boys!

Oh man I can totally relate to that thumb sucking thing. You have to give the M43 some love dude.

The M43 is a legend in it's own right and certainly doesn't deserve to be kicked to the curb like yesterdays sandpaper.

There's plenty of love for multiple blades. I know this to be true.

I held it up proudly and said "This is the greatest steel I've ever laid eyes on.."

Mrs: "What about the other ones?"

"..except for all of my other Himalayan Imports"

M43 is going to be just fine, so will Gelbu Special.

Grats stwm! Thats definitely one to behold. Its on my top five for sure. You got a nice piece of wood on that one too!

The mental image this sentence caused is incredible. Score one for STWM's wordsmanship. I also enjoyed the promised pictures. Awesome

Are you implying that he might make himself a sister if he's not careful? Hmmmm... Good implication.

God gave 2 arms, swing 'em both :D

Very nice Nepalese toothpick! A worthy addition to any collection. Just remember: When you die, it goes to Bookie!

Fine looking khukuri you have there! I really admire Thamar's work (though I only have one blade from him now) some day I'll order myself another Tin Chirra to replace the last one.

How do you like that handle ergonomics compared to the more straight westernized ones? Once you get the wrist snap down you can especially appreciate its form. Mr Bensinger did a great short video some days ago i thought was one the first ive seen that shows the real advantage to these traditionally dropped handles. Enjoy it man! Superior blade you got there! Only HI:thumbup:

yes, stwm, this one seems to have a nicely curved grip, which i find much more comfortable and ergonomic compared to the straight ones. looks like a heirloom...poor m43, now not the baddest frog in the swamp.

I'll tell ya man I got all of mine last week and will post some pics been busy keeping my pesticide license updated, I got a tin chirra in the group and wow is all I can say awesome and amazing balanced and beautiful one of the best in the lot, I do think I found my car carry khuk and it turns out it is the super light to length ratio foxy folly I scored it is the 16" 19 oz from lachu it is breathtaking agile and intimidating, I feel so much love being surrounded by all the HI khuks, I just want to snuggle with them all. I ll post pics later today and some updates on em. Great score on that I love mine.

Can't wait to see the folly!

The handle on my Tin is nice and thick which makes it very comfortable for me. The forward balance and solid feeling of the whole thing makes it a joy to use.
I like it a lot more than I thought I would compared to the western handle..which was my favorite..but mine is even a bit large.

My favorite at this time is the oversized wooden traditional handles...but during long work sessions the ring can be problematic?

Still more testing is required but the M43 is still fantastic, the Tin is still fantastic, the Gelbu is fantastic.. All things just need 'more swing time', I'm always hunting around for more to chop and split.
