Probably the wrong forum for this but I would suspect that a large number of forumites are vets and/or know a vet. Thank 'em tomorrow and every day. I found this great site after hearing about it on Sean Hannity's radio program and it'll let you know how to cheer up our troops on active duty.

Happy Memorial Day and thanks to all you vets!

God Bless you guys and gals, former and current for fighting and protecting our freedom. Thank you from me and my family

I'm going to make this thread knife-related so it can stay in Blade Discussion:

Give a veteran a knife!

I'm a veteran and my wife is retired from 22 years of active duty service. Needless to say I have many knives. My son is now a veteran also just back from Iraq and I am proud to say I have passed my obsession and passion for cutlery on to him as well. I think it must be genetic.

Many thanks to all veterans on this Memorial Day of remembrance. Drive safe out there.

For the last 15 years I have been privileged to assist America's Veterans to bring more quality into their lives after the long journey to and from war. During that time I have met and been able to get to know some truly remarkable men and women who have served bravely in combat campaigns ranging from WWII to the present...from the Phillipines to Casino; from the Chosin Reservoir to the Ashau Valley and Khe Sahn; from Panama and Lebanon to Mogadishu; literally fathers and sons & mothers and daughters from Bataan to Fallujah, and all the countless moments in between in some place far from home where "someone elses' LIFE" is on the line. I never cease to be humbled by the grace, courage, and resiliancy that our Nation's Armed Forces exhibit, even after defending themselves, our freedom, and patriotic values in the living hell of war.

I wish peaceful blessings for all of our Veterans, past and present, and I am committed to the principle that we should
"NEVER FORGET THOSE THAT SERVE!"

Not a veteran but I really really appreciate what the folks in the armed forces do/have done for us.

Thank you so very much for the sacrifice that you and your family has made (or are making).

God bless you for what you do/did.

I'm a vet (Army and 1st gulf War) and so is my wife and I want to say "thank you" to all the CIVILIANS that made my service possible.

Armies don't go to war--nations go to war.
And it takes a nation to fight and win wars.

To...

The people who spent many long hours developing and manufacturing the weapons that I employed.

The people who designed and created the uniforms that I wore.

All the folks everywhere who have any part in supplying the food that kept me going, be it MREs or T-rations ot "mess hall chow".

A special thanks to the folks at DANNER BOOTS!
My boots have carried me for many many miles and have never given out before I did.

And to all of the great Americans who made my job possible (the list is truely never ending)...
I salute you!

And I thank YOU.

And I salute and thank those who are serving right now.

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers,
Allen.

not to be picky....but memorial day is the day to remember those who have paid the ultimate price for us.............our warriors who have fallen in battle protecting us.

i'm a disabled viet vet and like the rest of the vets from all the wars....our day is veterans day. we (thank God) did not have to make the ultimate sacrifice.

That would be George Orwell.

One of my favorite quotes is "A young man who does not have what it takes to perform military service is not likely to have what it takes to make a living."
John F. Kennedy

Bill, that would be George Orwell. And also one of my favorite quotes. Thank you all to the veterans who have served our country. And may those fallen never be forgotten. I am proud to serve in the Military today that you have shaped for me and this nation in the past. And a big thanks to all the civilians and members of this forum who show a great amount of support. I assure you your praises do not go unnoticed by the men and women of our armed forces. Every hand shake, salute, and positive comment is a reminder that what we do is appreciated. And every American flag is a reminder that fallen comrades were not taken in vain.

Point well taken. I don't mean to mix the days we honor our Veterans, but I have seen that it is good to honor those "that have borne the battle" every chance we get. With all due respect, from what I've seen, the suffering of the survivors is not shadowed when compared to the fallen.
I wish you well, and thank you for your service to your country.

I hope nobody minds if I bttt this one.

May the fallen rest in peace...and the standing and surviving live with peace.

May we always remember with reverence those who have given their lives that we may enjoy Freedom and Liberty. God bless America.
