So, for my birthday a while back, my wife tells to go ahead and order the Red Vantage Avid from the Buck web specials page. Done. So UPS site finally says "on the truck for delivery" All Right! So all day I'm looking out the window saying "Where's my Knife" literally, out loud. Check the UPS site ...out for delivery...out for delivery...out for delivery....What??? Problems with address???? Oh no, no ya don't. Call UPS, yup, there's some kind of problem. Ooooh no ya don't. I get Susan, Buck Cust. Service on the phone, What's goin' on I ask, "Let me check with shipping" she says. Susan comes back on the line and says she needs to check a little deeper, and that she would call me back. Ya, Right I says. Well, lo and behold, she calls me back, AND I have my gorgeous Avid the very next day! Thanks again Susan.
So, how do ya beat that you ask? Well, Let me tell ya I says. A few years ago, my wife got me a Buck 730 Multi-tool that I use about a dozen times per day at work, mostly the knife and or screw driver. Over the course of years I managed to break the pliers, and the knife tip. So about a month ago I sent it off to Buck asking them just to let me know how much to have it fixed, as I realize it may not exactly fall under "Manufacturer Warranty" coverage.
What do you think I get in the mail today? A Brand New Buck 730! Oh yeah, and a 25% discount towards my next online purchase for "my troubles".
I've purchased quite a few knives over the years, but you know what? From now on, If Buck don't make it, I don't need it.

A well-told and interesting story that encourages me. Thank you for posting it.

i agree! i don't get in the battles of which knife brand makes the "best" knives (since i am biased towards..well can prob guess) since i believe that among the major players they're all generally "good enough" for what i need.

however i've experienced first hand many examples similar to this of Buck's customer service and that's why i'm loyal to em. i'd say the customer service (and treatment) is far above any other brand i've ever dealt with (and not just for knives). add in the value you get from Buck and while i won't argue which brand makes the "best" knives i will argue that Buck treats it's customers the best and offers the best overall ownership experience.

if i have a need/want and Buck makes the product i look no further

When I got my Elk 112, I was very disappointed with the scales. I called, and IIRC it was Susan I talked to. She understood, and took the time to go through the remaining knives, and hand pick one that was close to what I explained I was hoping for. Very nice lady

Bucks customer service is the very best.If there was an award for the best customer service,I'm sure Buck would take 1st place.
