I felt the need to publicly thank Clich for the INCREDIBLE job he did on my Potbelly (first cousin to the Becker). Since not everyone goes into the KaBar forum, I felt I should post this here in the main Beckerhead Batcave. I've traded here and there on the forum, but this is the first time I ever had anyone do any real mod work on my steel. As you can see below, it came out waaay better than I imagined it would. So much so that I feel the need to plan to put money aside for Skystorm Moo-pants and see who will make worthy scales (thinking Tommythewho).

I offered to send some extra $$$ for a job well done, but he turned it down. Everyone needs to fund their hobby, and I would forward the motion that he go forward as a craftsman and offer his services for a modest fee, if only because it is totally worth it, he's got it down pat, and otherwise everyone will want him to do it. I appreciate the Becker-Brother-Favor, but people should be compensated accordingly. Who here wouldn't pay $20 for their favorite knife to be Cliched?

I intend to learn this skill myself, and am getting the supplies today. But I like that my PB isn't just etched, it's Cliched.

Not only that, but he's shown the potential for this knife to stand beside it's Becker Cousins as a worthy, customizable knife.

Well, since he turned down my federal reserve notes, I'm going to have to think of a way to pay it forward. I think a GAW will be sometime in the near future. Not sure what yet...though I have an idea.

I did what now? Man must be all the fumes. Jk of course. I'm happy to do it. Although now I want one, so my wallet ain't to happy. But i just tell her to shut up and make me a sammich :D

I held off on it for looooong time, because I just wasn't sure. It's one of "those" knives you just don't know about till you hold it, like the Machax....which I think will be next. Its the same price as a Machax too, which makes it all the more difficult to decide. In the end, the prospect of a hollow ground 1/4" thick knife was too much to pass up.

But Moose, Bladite, Clich, Me, and everyone else that has one or has tried one gives it the stamp of awesomeness.
 
Dang that turned out nice looking. I agree I originally thought it was goofy looking, but stripped, cliched and some micarta is another matter.

Clich quit doing reviews, that review was very good and now I have to order one. That's 5 knives this week and 2 are your fault.
 
Here's my vision for this thing. 4 BF members contributing.

I did the initial strip and polish.
Clich did the Clich n' Convex
Tommythewho (if he says ok) will get it next for handles
Skystorm, (if he says ok) will get it after Ttw for pants.

Will give Tommy and Sky very loose parameters, to give it their own stamp. Wood scales, and a dangler are my only instructions.

Only my best blades earn names, but this one already has one to go with Becky, the feminine BK9.
The JAB PB will be the masculine of the pair. His name henceforth, shall be......

Woody Wood-Wrecker.

So say we all.

The Gods demanded it. Woody Wood-Wrecker shall be one of the Titans. Since Clich is babysitting another day or two watching for continued reaction and rust, I'm thinking he should do a "Clash of the Titans" head to head between WWW and his Machax. Anyone interested?
