I don't have pics up yet but I feel I can make a few comments about this solid CRK! I don't know how to explain it but the 25 just feels more solid than my 21's and my Umnum. I really love the blade profile and the flat/hollow grind, imo its nearly a flat grind and it does cut better than my other CRK's:thumbup:

Mine was pretty stiff out of the box and the detent is super strong, but it did smooth out a bit and I have yet to adjust the pivot so that should help. I just got it last night so I need so more time to truly apprecite this amazing piece of craftsmanship:thumbup: And I must say it locks up with authority and has a nice clack to it.

So here's my question to all the 25 owners, what is the best way to break it down? I thought I heard Archman say there's no need to dissassemble the handle slabs, just the pivot and blade and washers. This sems like the best way to me, what do you fine folks think? Pics to come soon also.

Congrats on the 25. You're right that it is a heck of a beefy knife, even more so than the umnumzaan and looks much much much nicer in person than it does in pictures. As for breaking it down, I'd suggest you just enjoy the knife for now. I remembered talking to Anne at SHOT show and she was saying how she's completely baffled as to why people are breaking down their CRK knives before the mailman even drives away.

When I got mine it was a tad hard to open as well, what I did was just slightly loosened the pivot screw and it made a HUGE difference in terms of smoothness.

Yeah, this whole "disassembling a brand new knife to develop a relationship" thing has me baffled. I don't get it.

just break it down like the umnum, i would not recommend just taking the blade out becouse one of the washers has a hook and will be stuck in the handle and to realine everything would suck. altho if you have one of the first 30 ones i would not recommend to reasemble the knife with the old screws, mine broke pretty easy. but ive heard they have remade the screws so they are tougher now. i really dont wanna say more than that becouse its rumors and shit. but CRKs customerservice is AWESOME! they offered me to pay for shipping back and forth from Sweden to fix my knife :)

While i find REPEATED take downs of a knife ridiculous, i do like to take down all my new CRK's and clean and lube the way i like.

I think for a newbie CRK enthusiast, they SHOULD take down their CRK's a few times, yes i'm going to say it..."to develop a relationship". Not in that sense per se, but to understand how the knife works and to really see how well its made.

They do include the allen wrench for a reason!

jwolf90- Take the whole knife(25) apart and reassemble it laying flat on the table. I assemble my 21's like CRK recommends, by sliding blade with washers and bushing installed, into the handles(very easy)
