A few weeks ago I posted a not so cheerful message over at Carl's Lounge.
Soon after I got a email from our Sitflyer with the request te send my mailing address.
Today a package was delivered at my door by the post man.

Put the Peanut right to work.

When open it contained a nice little tube.

Needless to sat I was pretty much stoked when I opened the tube.
In it there was, wrapped in paper, the most perfect little slipjoint I handled so far.

At first I was planning to keep this for display being a gift and all, but after some polishing, linseed rubbing and a few stropes I slipped it in my pocket and I'm planning on using this fine knife.

Was about to throw the empty box away when suddenly I saw a yellow piece of folded paper in it.
It was a nice hand written letter including a coin for good luck.

Duane, thank you so very much my friend.

You really made my day with this gesture.;)

Please don't mind the non traditionals on the back ground.
Saw it after posting. (Caught up a bit in my enthousiasm I guess :o )

Such continued and bountiful generosity and kindness, Duane! Pure class! Congrats, spydutch

Echoing whats posted above---fine folk here, both the giver and the receiver!!!

Paul

Nice to see it made the long journey safely Spydutch. Hope you really enjoy using this knife, and may it serve you well! :)

Good on both of ya!!:thumb up:

The number 15 frame is one of the nicest pocket knives i've handled. Feels good in hand, and cuts better. I don't have the clip, but if it's anything like mine, it will som be your favorite carry knife. Right up there with a peanut!:thumb up:

Again, the kindness and generosity on this board is unequaled in my experience!

Duane is great guy! :thumbup::thumbup:

High praise for the 15 from the Grand Muckba! That is a great photo Carl, looks like both items are well loved
Very nice!

Congratulations!
I have also been on the receiving end of Duane's big heart. We are very fortunate, and Im very happy for you.

I don't know how much you know about that knife, so forgive if I mention something already obvious to you. Here is some info on superstitions about gift knives

and some info about the moment in time when your knife was made.

It uses the same long pull clip as these barlows of March 2013

Gec always makes their own interpretation of an SFO, using the same blade but different handle, so your Boys knife is from the same unique time, and no more of those Long Pull blades are being made.

I love your barehead Ebony handle. Thanks for posting photos too! This is a great picture showing the really classic lines of your knife. You must have been a very good person in a past life, to have earned such good luck in this one :-) (I am not a Buddhist, I just play one on the Internet)

And it goes without saying, but I will, that Duane is an awesome person too, touching lives in beautiful ways.

Congratz to you, Spydutch - the #15 is a great pattern and you will love that knife, for sure :)

Duane is one of the best around here, indeed! You are a great man, my friend.

Well done, you both! :)

Very good gesture. Great guy. I will agree with everyone, the 15 frame is one of the best knives every made. That's right, I'm saying ever. Classic. I carry my TC Barlow every day. Perfect size. Although, if you guys keep posting these beauties, I think I might have to start saving my pennies for a blackwood/ebony boy's knife.

Thanks all for the nice comments
After a good 24 hours I'm still happy as a little kid in a candy store..
The knife only cut cigarette paper so far to amaze me how sharp it is. Didn't sharpen it at all because it came sharp as a razor

The little bugger hasn't left my pocket so far.
I didn't cut any serious matter though. Still a little bit hesitant :o
Did use it extensively as a worry stone though and take it out of my pocket every odd hour or so just to open, close and admire it.

@ John:

Thanks for the info
So if I understand it right this knife is kinda exclusive as well. Hmm this doesn't make it easier to really use it....
Nah just kidding :p

Dont have alot to add to this, but I too wanted to say that I have also been on the receiving end of Duane's generosity!
I dont know what to say, but he is one of the good ones!
