A couple days ago I received the most wonderful gift from Duncan, a beautiful ivory Lloyd that has been my constant companion since arrival. Since it was a photo contest, wanted to snab a couple shots to show off it's beautiful patina. The bolsters and shield have earned a beautiful "pocket polish", fine lines that improve with age.

The spring looks to be 52100, love the contrasting patina it makes with the liners and ivory.

Carrying this knife makes me think about it's journey, fabricated in John's shop, traveled halfway around the world, then spent the next several months in Duncan's pocket traveling around NZ, then back halfway around the world to me. I am a lucky man. When I read Duncan's posts, in my mind I hear a NZ accent and lovable down-under politeness. When I feel Duncan's knife in my pocket, it brings a big smile to my face. Sir, you have class. Thank you for giving us part of your life.

What a beautiful knife. One to my heart; a sturdy single bladed pocket knife.
Congrats and enjoy Chief and very nice gesture again Duncan.

Whew, that's a great gift. Duncan, thanks so much for you contributions here and the gifts you have given people that you most likely haven't ever met in person. You are definitely a class act. I salute you.

Chief, I know that you will enjoy that one a lot. Beautiful knife.

That is really incredible! The knife, and Duncan's generosity! Congrats Chief, and well done Duncan:thumbup:

Chief, I should say John, what you wrote was something that has struck a chord in me, I am simply flattened by the extremely kind things that you have said here Sir...
Life is funny isnt it, along the way I have lost some very very close friends, and family - as we do unfortunately, but a couple of years ago I lost one extremely close friend ( in my signature line ), well I looked up to Gary in a huge way, in the way I adnmired how he strode through life being a Gentleman, polite, and a hard worker...and a bloody fantastic loyal friend, the day he died I was holding his hand when he passed away, I swore to take a leaf from his book, so he could live on in some small way through me..

I am sorry..what I am trying to say is that I am always trying to better myself as a person, and after having the good fortune to be able to be here in Traditionals, and especially in cases like this very moment when I read something like this, I realise just how far I have to go, and this is a good thing, so thank you very much John, its a pure pleasure -it realy is.
