Hey guys, I just wanted to share some pictures of the knife I chose from Elliott's Thanksgiving giveaway. I had originally posted that I was going to go with a GEC congress, but after thinking about what really makes my ideal everyday knife, I changed my mind. Here's what I came up with.

Sorry for the delay in between post, I'm experiencing some technical difficulties.

This knife is absolutely amazing. The F&F is flawless, the ebony is nice and dark, the pull on all 3 blades is just right, and it came shaving sharp. For me, the versatility of the three different blades, and the durability of the ebony scales, make this guy the perfect everyday knife. I've said it before, but Mike and Elliott, you guys don't know how much I appreciate this. Thank you.

Excellent choice!

I love my two 66 knives (jack and moose), and the stockman is probably my favorite pattern of pocket knife. That ebony looks great! I think you are going to be pleased with this one for a long, long time!

Good choice. I just picked up a couple ebony 66 jacks from Mike myself, they are great, enjoy the knife.

Glad you got the knife that you liked best, Matt. Interesting that the "Smith Bros." both chose ebony. I guess it's true what they say about the apples not falling too far from the tree. ;)

It was my pleasure, Matt and Ryan. I feel like I was given a gift as well. Thanks for sharing the images and your impressions.:thumbup:

You know, even though you two guys are the "Smith Bros.", put your first names together and you might also make a halfway decent quarterback for the Falcons.
(Though me and Ryan are confirmed NY Giants fans...interesting parallels nonetheless. :p)

i am not sure I want to be associated with the dirty birds in anyway :p

Congrats on the 66, another sweet GEC
That frame is my favorite of all the GEC's, and my most recent catch is the stockman version though I went with cocobolo (another real "traditional" wood handle it seems).

Thanks again to Elliott, Mike, Gary and all who make this subforum so special!

Excellent choice! I think that 3 1/2" serpentine pattern is wonderful. I carry my Bullwinkle frequently because it is such a nice size in the pocket, and the stockman has yet another blade.
Kudos to good old Blues for making it a great day in Baltimore!

A very nice knife Mr Smith. Thanks once again to Elliott and Mike for the generosity of the giveaway (and thanks to Gary for offering to be on hand to assist those of us outside the USA) :)

Great looking knife - Sir :) The Calf Roper is a type of GEC knife I´ve always been interessted in; I really like those Ebony Covers.

Congratz on that neat piece.

No comment. Lol

As others have mentioned, this is a very comfortable frame, both in have and I'm pocket. Now I really want to try out the other patterns that use this frame, especially the moose.

Thanks everyone for your responses.

Congrats.

Ebony and carbon steel, in a stockman pattern, you just can't loose with that combo!

That's a fine knife. The Smith boys made out very well on this give away. Beautiful knives, the both of them and a huge thank you to Elliott and Mike for this great give away. It's been a great one to see how it played out and it played out wonderfully.
