. . . it sure beat daytime TV while i was unemployed :D

i finally got a permanent job offer yesterday. I can start putting away into an M43 fund ;) :p

I will be an electronic engineer maintaining and repairing geophysical survey equipment (ground penetrating radar, metal detectors, cesium magnetometers, sonar modules. . . ) by the way.

Unemployment has its' own special place in the world, in the sludge at the bottom of the bucket. People like those who make up this forum have a way of bringing you up and flushing you off from time to time  VERY few (if any) gatherings that compare.

a_punker - congrats on the new job!

Sorry to steal your thunder here but I'm now reminded of something.

I owe a report to everybody on my brother's status.

He finally got a FT job with a nice company making more than he did before. He'll start July 1.

Thanks to everybody for the support.

It's been a tough road for him - about 9 months now of part-time employment at half his normal salary.

Just hope it doesn't go to his head now...

:footinmou

Congratulations to a_punker and Dan's brother. Being out of work has GOT to be REAL bad for your peace-of-mind.

Congratulations!

I got my first full time job two months ago and I have bought more sharp stuff in those two months than in the previous year. It did go into my head!:footinmou

Congrats all on the new jobs.:D wish I could find a better one.

I was unemployed for 5 months. Loved havinng the time, hated not having the $$$. I took a job that paid 20K less than I was making. Ouch! Hey, beggars aren't choosy.

well thank you for your congratulations folks!

its (only?!) been 3 months for me. all of my graduate buddies are still looking, the industry is in a slump. I guess my secret was about 25-30 hours a week pure phoning companies, travelin round agencies, trawlin' internet job sites and the govt job centre.

Just hope it doesn't go to his head now...
congrats to your bro. don't worry about it going to his head - does he have a partner? my wife has already started allocating huge chunks of my yet-to-arrive paycheque!

p.s. d'ya like my new khuk-weilding RWF dragon? (in Welsh: khukuri y ddraig choch)

a_punker - yes! I did actually notice it - just didn't have time to say anyting earlier. Classy!
