You see this all too often around Traditionals- about the warmth, sharing and generosity, to the degree its almost a daily occurrence!
With my job I am often on the road - or at my shops who I look after- and rarely call into work base- but when I did a day before Christmas - there was two packages waiting for me- one from our lad on the UK - Mr. Jack Black, and one from Mr Paul Hilborn

How I receive most of my knives is through a private contractor Post Master in North Dakota Mr. Hilborn, I apologise to people whom I have bought knives from here- as it is often months that I get to see the knives I have bought- and often I have forgotten who I have bought them from

Quite some time ago Mr Knife gifted several people in the Guardians of the Lambsfoot Gang each a stunning A Wright Horn Handled Lambsfoot, I struggle lately with time so when I visit here of late- so my Thread visits are quick- and usually interrupted...so basically Im starved :(....literally starved of Traditional Knife feed :p

.......so I was reading away in the Guardians and was totally surprised to see mentioned that I was actually one of the lucky recipients of young Mr Knife's generosity!!!!!
you guys KNOW what this is like- it's actually one hang of a lot easier gifting a knife rather than receive one! ... so after the initial shock...time sets in, and I wait until my knife quota builds up enough for Mr Hilborn ( aka Post Master ) to send off to me a box with goodies...

Just in time for Christmas too I can tell you- and what a Christmas gift it was!
Here is Mr Knifes ( Jack ) gorgeous Lambs Foot Knife- Love the Horn Handles Jack my friend, this knife is a beauty- and is being used on a super regular basis- to the degree it needs a touch up now as the Factory edge is now getting a bit dull- so I enjoy this getting to know my knife more by Sharpening it, well here it is......

Jack- Thank you SO, SO much for this, I have owned many Lambsfoot Knives in the past- some quite nice ones and have gifted them, and wouldnt you know it...they are starting to become quite scarce now, so it's great to have a wonderful A. Wright Knife- a Lambs Foot at that in my pocket my friend

NEXT is a Knife that Paul also included in the package with Jacks Lambsfoot- last year hit us hard eh guys with the loss of Bob..Oh man....Bob our mate was quite a guy eh? well Paul was able to buy ...I hope I am right...but I think it was after the passing of Bob...a Bob Modified HJ10 ...and Paul so thoughtfully gifted this knife to me.... a Bob one-of-a-kind Knife, Paul my friend Thank you for this sentimental Knife that will be used and also acts as a memory stone for me.
HJ's I have a wee soft spot for, Bob modified the Spear to a Clip-Point- and it's a HJ!!! so guess where this knife will be - yep...into the edc rotation with Jacks' Lamby!
Here is Bobs Mod- Paul mate- a heartfelt thanks to you- Oh boy... a few tears well up in the eyes while I type this but we unfortunately cannot change some things- so we make do with the best we have what's left- for us here it's only a touch of what Bobs Family had, but what a touch eh? so .....

The Next Package that was waiting for me was from Mr. Jack Black...man this guy has to be one of the most generous guys that I have witnessed, all the time you see Jacks name mentioned with his kind, well thought of Gifts, you also receive wee Sheffield trinkets, post cards- the whole package is a pleasure to go through- not to mention a Knife!
Jack also included with a lovely Christmas Card ( now why have I never sent these?-shameful really  ) a gorgeous A. Wright beautiful Horn handled HawksBill Pruner, talk about a Wright overload! but a good one I can tell you!.
This Knife has been used well also since it arrived, I love Pruners - and this knife is simply awesome, the Handles in the strong Sunlight - as Horn does, become quite Translucent - the knife has a Butt Plate to finish things off nicely- always adds such class these plates to the Pruners imo so I finally got a few hours to sit down outside, have a wee beer...ok ...a couple of Beers and take a few snaps, so here is Jacks wonderful gift to me, Jack my friend- Thank you SO MUCH for this gorgeous Knife - always when I pick up a knife- be it at home or at work and a knife that is gifted, I thank that person with a smile as the Blade is exposed to do the job.......

Thank you my friends for this amazing group of knives - knives that mean one heck of a lot to me.

Hey Duncan, glad everything got there safely! Thanks again Paul for shipping her off to Duncan there.

We were just remarking about Bob's love for a good modification in another thread. he was gonna do the 78 spears and was seeing if id like one done :(, RIP to our friend.

Duncan, I might be a little jealous if you weren’t such a deserving gentleman! :D All the knives are special. The A. Wright Guardian Lambsfoot is such a wonderful knife. Each one of the limited edition being unique in there own, and extra special coming from our young friend from New York, MrKnife. Well done Jack. :) The two Horn Sheffield Pruners are such splendid examples and from a true friend and gentleman Mr. Jack Black. :) I admit to being biased, but that one of a kind HJ modded by our late friend BigBiscuit and gifted by that big hearted gentleman and friend from ND is a priceless addition to your HJ collection. It most assuredly deserves to be carried and admired in your EDC rotation. Well done Paul, I know that Bob would be proud! This place just never ceases to amaze me! :D

Some wonderful generosity fellas with some wonderful examples of a traditional knife variation. Well done Duncan on receiving the gifts! Absolutely love the Hawkbill/pruner, the handles are amazing.

Russell

Mrknife, your generosity is astounding. I have long admired the Lambsfoot with horn handles and for one reason or another I still don't have one.
I told my wife "look at the type of people that hang out on the porch". Its a great place because of people like you. Thank you.

Glad you got your knives for Christmas Duncan, and it's nice to see them. Well done to young Jack and to Paul for their generosity, your Guardians Lambsfoot has racked up a few air miles! :D I hope we'll see it again, from time to time, in the Lambsfoot thread ;)

:) a side of BF that's seen but sometimes forgotten. I've said it before and I'll say it again. People do become friends and get to know each other on the forums and those are some stand up people right there.

Duncan, you are ABSOLUTELY one of the most sincere, genuine and kind people on the planet and so deserving of all the good Karma you receive. The Lambfoot is an amazing gift from an AMAZING person in Jack, plus it's a single and shiney blade:D

And then there is our esteemed Jack Black:thumbsup: his generosity is LEGENDARY:cool: what a BEAUTIFUL Pruner!!! The covers are outstanding:thumbsup:

Now about that knife from Bob, our friend we love and miss. It just seemed so fitting that you have it. I bought it from Bob before he passed. He told me that after all the knives had sold that he had to close the thread because it was so emotional from all the outpouring of love from his family here on the Porch. Bob and I as well as many here enjoying slight to more complex modifications to traditional knives. Bob certainly made that HJ unique in his special way. I told Bob it was for you and he expressed his pleasure in knowing that. Of the knives I have gifted others, that one by far is the most special. It is from a dear friend to a dear friend, and knowing your passion for the HJ pattern and that Bob made it so unique is special. Another special feature is that it is Charlie's (another dear friend) release in his tribute to a terrific and historical Jack Knife:cool:

The porch is a bright spot. Three great knives, with wonderful stories to go with them. Thanks for sharing the stories with us all.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments- and Paul- thank you for clarifying the buying of the Knife from Bob - and for your kind comments as well my friend! A Massive thank you for this wonderful keepsake Paul.

Glad you got your knives for Christmas Duncan, and it's nice to see them. Well done to young Jack and to Paul for their generosity, your Guardians Lambsfoot has racked up a few air miles! :D I hope we'll see it again, from time to time, in the Lambsfoot thread ;)

Jack- the Knife is in my pocket as we "speak" you are bound to see it pop up there my friend- once again- a massive thank you!
