I posted this Anniversary TC in Brazilian Rosewood in the Christmas thread a couple weeks ago as a gift to myself. It was actually a Christmas gift from my friend Jon Slider. So, I just want to thank you Jon for the kindness and generosity that makes this Forum the best place to meet people you otherwise would not have ever met. I am blessed for all the friends I have made here in 2014 and I look for 2015 to be the same.

Happy New Year!

That is a really nice looking knife, and I'm sure a pleasure to carry! Congrats on the new acquisition!
Beautiful!

Awesome gesture from a genuinely nice guy! That sure is a looker
Well said, the best thing about the porch is the friends we meet. Thanks for sharing, and Happy New Year to you!

WOW  That is a seriously beautiful knife. Super nice Christmas gift from Jon and congrats Marksharp. Have a great New Year:)

A very nice gift! I miss Jon around here. Hope he comes back some day. . . .

Time for a doctor's appointment Mark!! More seriously - a wonderful gift to bestow on anyone, even if they are in the beginning stages of dementia. Jon is a great guy.:D:thumbup:

I'm working on it Charlie, he is a great asset to this community.:)

Nice brother:thumbup: I haven't talked to Jon in quite sometime but the last time I did I too urged him to come back and join the fray:thumbup:

Oh, Charlie, I have a question sir. The label says it was made in 2013 and the blade is stamped 2014. Is that a typo by Christine? Thanks buddy.

I remember seeing Jon's posts when I first started hanging around here. Really loved his commentary and insight. If I recall we had similar taste in car restorations. Hope he turns up.

Mark that is probably the best looking Charlow I have seen sir. Well done:thumbup: I hope to see it pop up on a thread soon. :)

Jon - Just in case you drop by. It seems you have some quality gentlemen as friends here and if your reputation is half as good as the compliments given above, I'd like see a chair retaken by you on this porch. Congrats on the gift sir.

I miss Jon as well. He is a real asset to this community!! I hope for your return, Jon. Fantastic knife and super fine picture, Mark!! Very deserving.

+1  What a very generous and thoughtful gift.

Also, to Jon. We'll slide down and make room for you on the 'porch'.

Jon......I miss having you around these parts as well, as the guys have said- a definite asset to have around - a great guy.
Thats an incredibly beautiful knife Mark Sir-you are a most deserving person to have such a great knife!

Mark, that is a beautiful knife, and a very generous gift.

I actually just discovered this thread because I went looking for jon_slider! Like everyone else, I miss his contributions. I first discovered bladeforums in 2013 when I was trying to figure out how to purchase a TC Barlow. Jon was a big influence on me and some of my choices about knife collecting and knife carrying. In addition to his general contributions, he was always willing to reach out to newbies and share his knowledge and experience.

Jon, I hope you are well, and that we will hear from you again soon!

That is a beautiful knife, and speaks volumes about Jon's character to gift such a desirable piece.

Thanks ms3902. I recently purchased this NYKC Barlow from singing50, aka Perry. Jon knew about the purchase. When I woke up the next day and checked my email, there had been a Paypal gift from Jon for the cost of the knife. He is a stand up guy!

Thank you again Jon! :)
