I got a nice surprise yesterday, when I received a small padded envelope. Fishing inside, I found a ‘Thank You’ card from Jennifer (Jone), who had won one of my recent giveaways. The prize of a vintage Sheffield-made child’s cutlery set went to Jennifer’s daughter Riley, and as well as Jennifer’s heart-warming letter was a card from Princess Riley herself! :) I read both with the biggest grin imaginable, and was so busy grinning, I nearly failed to notice that there were other contents in the envelope.

I’m sure that many of us will remember Jennifer’s recent giveaway and the beautiful leather wallets she’d made out of old baseball mitts. Well I’m now a very proud owner of a catcher’s mitt wallet, and it’s gone straight into use. It’s really well made and has so much character, I absolutely love it

Jennifer also included a North Carolina Quarter, and in the bottom of the envelope I also found this awesome vintage Schrade Pull Ball Knife! I’ve never had one in my hands before, so was absolutely fascinated by this rare and historic piece.

Thanks so much Jennifer, and please thank Riley for me, and say Hi to the boys. What a great place this is :)

Riley I love that drawing
You did an amazing job. I bet Jack Black was smiling just like that when he got his gift. :)

Awesome knife! I have never seen that style before. What is the time period?
Jone ~ love the leather work.

Love learning new things on here :)

Thanks for giving and sharing. I was able to learn a little more today.
I bet you were like the Cheshire Cat. I would have been too.

I sure remember those baseball glove wallets; Jennifer was an inspiration to me! (Of course, she actually makes 'em, and I just look at my leather and think about what sort of stitching I can actually handle :)).

What happens when you pull the ball, and how does it work? Very interesting knife!

Thanks, Jack and Jennifer, for your contributions to the forum!

Thanks GT :) When you pull the ball the blade springs into the open position.

Jack, so glad the package arrived safely. Riley, the boys and I all hope you'll enjoy everything. I'll be sure to tell everyone Hi, and Riley will love hearing the card arrived. I'll have to show her this thread later this afternoon. She will enjoy seeing your pics. She is still enjoying her new gifts from you as well, so we send our many thanks for that too. We are happy to be a part of this place. Have a great Sunday everyone.

Jennifer and Jack...such great and heartwarming acts on both sides:thumbup: LOVE Riley's card;):)

Thanks to the both of you making this place so terrific:thumbup: Such a neat thread;)

Wow! Excellent! Jone, what a wonderful set of gifts! I can imagine Jack just grinning away over all of those.

I love this place. :)
